Okay yeah Rebels is starting to get ridiculous. · 2:29am Feb 11th, 2016

So now Ezra is Nausicaa AND Muad'Dib.

Yeah.

Here's some advice, writers: there's a thing called a Mary Sue/Marty Stu.

Look it up.

Because you've created one of the worst ones ever.

what exactly is going on here? I'm not up to date on Rebels, mind filling me in?

3746895 Tonight's ep showed us that Ezra can communicate with space whales.

So wait, Ezra has basically become Paul Astreides/Emperor Maud'Dib. As long as he doesnt get the Tusken Raiders to go on jihads for him....

Space Whale communication...ok...I can only guess what'll happen next time:

Next time, join Ezra as he searches the stars with a cyborg and a rebellious youth as they search for the lost treasure of Captain Flint!

Evne worse than *shudders* Radiant Hope?

Saw that.. Barely avoided spoilers you fuck! I'm catching up on the series goddamnit!

3747029 Hey, you wanna watch the hostility, bub? That REALLY was not called for.

All good things must come to and one way or another. Let's hope they do something that will balance this out though.

3747048 Sombra's marefriend from the comics. The one who alerted Sombra to Celestia 1000 years ago Shortly before the fight that resulted in the Crystal Empire being banished to time. Sombra appears to be a tragic villain of sort given his origins.

3747091 That was BEFORE "Siege of The Crystal Empire" completely ruined her character. I could go on and on about her character in those four issues, but I won't. Just ask around, you'll know how badly they dropped the ball.

3747097 I see. I'll have to read that arc when I can find it. It actually sounds interesting, regardless of everyone's opinion on it.

3747103 Well, I hope you can make it through that arc with your sanity intact. It starts off innocent enough, but before long it takes a 180 degree nosedive into flames. :twilightoops:

3746951 proto culture is the most powerful force in the universe after all

3747124 Huh, I think I can. This is the guy who's gone through a few grimdark stories and thought up a way to counter each one and fix them, even co-writing a sequel to one with the original author to resolve everything in the best way possible. Going through what others think is a trainwreck of a story should be interesting.

I don't think that was so much as Ezra's use of the Force, but rather, the Space Whales reaching out to him through happenstance. Any better?

3747036 I thought people weren't allowed to cuss on this site?

I have very mixed feelings about SW: Rebels. On the one hand, we have some really cool stuff like the return of Ahsoka Tano and Captain Rex (two of my favorite characters from the Clone Wars), an explanation of why stormtroopers seem to have trouble with accuracy, and a look at the origins of the Rebellion and many of its heroes (Leia, Lando, etc.). Plus the triumphant return of James Earl Jones as Darth Vader.
But then we have things like the space whales (ugh, really?) and Ezra. I honestly feel as though Ezra is some kind of bad Star Wars fanfiction OC or author insert. The one that stray's way to close to the Gary Stu/Marty Stu territory. The rest of the cast are ok, they at least seem like real characters with developing story arcs, but Ezra just seems like the show's little golden boy that can do no wrong.

3747184 What gave you that idea? Seriously?

3747424 I thought we were at least supposed to use the spoiler blocking....

3747853 Where'd you get a silly idea like that?

Anyway, my issue with that guy's post is how unnecessarily confrontational, angry, and abusive it was.

3747917 I like to assume positively about people. I know, foolhardy...but seriously, does Ezra come off to you like a Marty Stu? I thought it was more the wails just happening to reach out to Ezra.

3747934 Ezra's been marysueing it up since season one. This is just the latest thing to call BS on about him.

3747937 I'll admit, in some ways Ezra is more 'special' than others, but unless he's able to send Vader packing, I won't say he's op yet.

3747917 He probably got it from how aggressive you get about Persona spoilers in Persona: EG and applied it to everything you post. Still, unless it's something huge within the sense of the episode or something that is a part of a season long plot thread, I do't really care. If a show needs to rely on a huge plot detail to be enjoyable, it probably isn't that good overall.

3748370 That's not especially good logic on your part re: his reason for popping off and hurling obscenities at me for no reason. Especially because the whole thing with Persona spoilers isn't for my benefit, but for my readers who didn't start playing those games until they started reading that story, and I only get aggressive and profane about it when the requests to apply spoiler tags are repeatedly ignored.

The more likely explanation is the guy is simply a jerk.

3748731 Or he's a typical internet user who acts like a jerk behind the anonymity of cyberspace, but could be a gentleman in real life. Who knows? Doesn't excuse his behavior, but I'm not going to draw conclusions from one post.

3747029 Is there a point before these episodes where they explain what these two terms are? I've only watched the first season and part of the Season 2 opener, and I didn't feel spoiled at all. All I really got from this post was that Ezra did something that should have been beyond his skill level and/or natural ability. Not really enough to be considered a spoiler.

3749209 it probably wasn't that bad but he still should have said spoilers or something. Don't really care about all the dislikes either.

3747937 lightsaber within about 2 episodes? Yra that's Gary stu.

I kinda did like the new episode. It was interesting how Ezra developed that connection with the space whales; it shows that he's becoming more in tune with the force.

3752348 I never said she was. I said that Ezra is appaently Nausicaa now.
