My latest Lego project (still under construction) · 9:33pm Feb 8th, 2016
Those who haven't been following me for as long as others might not remember this, but I have a massive Lego fixation, and ever since I discovered LDraw/MLCad, I've been construction virtual Lego models as a hobby off and on for several years. Two years ago, shortly after I got my current PC, I constructed several very ambitious and time-consuming models.
Last week, I got the urge to brick again, and while I started with a couple of small, unimpressive models that aren't worth sharing, I'm in the middle of building one of my more elaborate creations right now. Started it at the end of last week, picked back up on it today.
It's nowhere CLOSE to finished yet, but I thought I'd share the test render I just ran.
I have no idea what the hell this thing I'm building is. Zef has jokingly dubbed it "Moonbase Sparkle". Whatever it is, it's enormous, and I'm still working on it.
It looks like some sort of camera. With a Twilight Sparkle touch of course.

3741398 A camera the size of a large building? If you expand the image out (blog post kinda shrank it and I really should've cropped the test render) you'll realize how truly massive this is.
3741407 True, though there IS a working cellphone in Minecraft that's quite big. Then a Youtuber not only ordered a pizza with it, but the pizza girl joined in on the stream.

Ah, Lego. As a kid my dad and I built the Empire State Building almost like bi-annual tradition.
I've got a giant Bionicle scorpion I'll share when I get home.
It's only slightly smaller than me lost and/or taken apart Bionicle centaur.
I haven't built with Legos in ages. What ever happened to Bionicle? Is that still a thing?
3741450 They are, but they are different. My main accomplishment with lego's is my 3 foot bionicle.

3741522 Ah, Bionicle. I remember when I made a feat like that... the day after my brother's dog had effectively reduced it to chewed plastic... that was the first time I actually wanted to kill a dog.

wow you have built some awesome stuff!
I looked through the other models, and I especially like the Upscale Japanese Residence and Greek Temple Thingy. Also, the model you have there looks kinda like an Air Traffic Control tower, but purple, and rectangular, and actually come to think of it not all that much like an ATC tower.

3742123 The Japanese residence and Greek temple are my favorites. I think I have a few that aren't in there because POVRay wouldn't render them for some reason; I'll have to get LDraw raws of them up later. And yeah, my thought process going into what I'm doing now is part air traffic control tower and part Dekabase, only not really so much either as just kind of a building that I dunno. And somehow it started having Twilight Sparkle-ish colors.
