Time for a little status update.

After taking a break from writing after publishing the latest chapter of Desert Spice (how did said chapter go over for you, by the way?), I've finally gotten started on my next project: writing more Monster Hunter: Equestria. Specifically, I've gotten the next chapter all outlined up and ready to be written out. It'll probably be a lot shorter than my Desert Spice chapters, since it's considerably more focused. I'm feeling good about this situation.

And speaking of situations to feel good about, I recently had a job interview that seemed to go pretty well. I may just end up being able to earn a bit of cash before I head back to college to finish my bachelors. Well, to start finishing my bachelors. :twilightsheepish:

As for the Desert Spice chapter I recently released, it ended up being received a lot better than I was expecting. I'd been worried about how Rize's actions would come across, but I really should have had more faith in you readers (and myself). You managed to pick up exactly what I was intending. :pinkiehappy:

Right. Desert Spice chapter turned out better than expected. Might have a job soon. Next chapter of Monster Hunter: Equestria is fairly organized and ready to be expanded into a readable chunk of horse words. I can't and won't promise y'all an ETA, but this should be a significantly shorter wait than the one you just recently endured.

Also, I've been toying with an idea of shipping Derpy with one of the OCs I'm creating for the monster hunting team. Whether I do that or not will depend largely on how their characters choose to develop, but I figured I might as well test the waters here before I committed to anything. It wouldn't be the main plot, but it'd be a subplot that might make things a little happier in the Hooves household, along with a little of something personal to raise the stakes for Derpy even higher on the battlefield. So, knowing jack squat about her potential partner, what do you think of the idea? Should I do it? Or should I keep the shipping to Desert Spice (when it finally gets around to the shippier parts :derpytongue2:).

Well, I wrote this while in the middle of yet another migraine, so it may not be the most coherent thing I've ever written, but I really wanted to give you guys an update on what I'm doing.

In short: Life is good, and migraine Bugsy is sleepy. Good night, Fimfiction.

"how did said chapter go over for you, by the way?"
Well, though I believe I've said that already. :)

Ah, good luck regarding that job.

re Derpy shipping:
I don't know if it would work, but I don't have a problem with it on principle.

Ooh, sorry about the headache. Good luck. And goodnight, it appears. :)

As long as you're not shipping her to Earl, all is good. :P

Glad to hear the good news. As for Derpy shipping, given how I did that with an OC in my very first story on this site, I'd be a hypocrite of the highest order if I told you not to. By all means, go for it if their characters develop in that direction.

Thanks for the well-wishes and support. If I discover that they want it to happen (like how Spicy and Outta Stock clearly did :trollestia:), then I won't stand in their way.

And no, Earl will not be involved.

I suppose that we'll see how it goes, then. :)

WRT Derpy:
As Significant Other always says "Ship it! Ship it like Maersk!"

By all means ship her (as if you would need my permission).

So, knowing jack squat about her potential partner, what do you think of the idea?

Given that whether or not shipping works is entirely dependent on the characters and their organic growth, I really can't say with this level of information. If you think you can handle it, try it, but don't try to force anything.

No worries of that happening. If any shipping does end up happening, it'll be from the heart. :raritywink:

It's good to see that you're willing to withhold judgment until we actually know the characters better, too.
