Gaaaah, waking up earlyyyyy... · 1:07am Jan 30th, 2016
So, tomorrow, I'm going to be competing in yet another journalism competition for my school, only this time, I gotta be at the school by 6 AM. My teacher was a little too casual about that bit of info.
Teacher: Alright, so we'll pack up on the bus at about 6 AM--
Me: 6 AM?!
Teacher: Yes, and we'll be driving for about 45 minutes to get to the--
Me: 45 MINUTES WILL NOT BE SUFFICIENT NAP TIME FOR ME WHEN I HAVE THE SLEEP SCHEDULE I DO.
Teacher: --competition, and then you'll be competing pretty soon afterwards--
Me: How the hell am I supposed to get dressed, get ready, and eat breakfast within a reasonable time period before 6 AM?
Teacher: And at some point in the future we'll be getting some food from a nice restaurant.
Me: That does little to sooth my broken spirit.
Friendly reminder that I live within walking distance from the school, as well, so I'll be walking tomorrow since my mom doesn't wanna be up at ass o'clock in the morning like I do. I guess it could be worse, but c'mon, I gotta go bed hella early on a Friday? Whelp, looks like I'm gonna be pretty tame tonight... Like every Friday night, hehe.
Now, if you excuse me, I'm just gonna try to get on with my life while these morons keep bothering me about their sequel.
That sucks. It's painful for me to be at school for 7:45.
3722035 Doesn't it always? I remember that, at this one high school I went to, I had to get up at around 4:45-5:00 just so I could get ready in the morning.
3722138 It helps that I care next to nothing about my appearance, so I can spend five minutes getting dressed and ten minutes eating, then two minutes for some personal hygiene.

Try getting up at 5: to get ready to take a bus to school where you also work. I work starting 8am and go to class the rest of the day until 7pm on Mon and Wed.
College life is harsh sometimes.
May God have mercy on your soul!
I know the feeling, heck, I even went through the same thing! I was in journalism during High School, though in my High School, journalism wasn't really popular and I usually had to convince others (once in a while) to do stories so we could have a newspaper. I only did a few articles myself, though, and it was usually important ones (for some odd reason). Then, in the end of the year, turns out I was the only one enjoying the class...AND when competitions came, my Journalist teacher couldn't make it, but I remember him telling, "I won't be making it, but I know you will do great on your own. You will be the only one there, however you will have to represent our by yourself...Just thought to let you know. You will do our school proud, I have faith in you! "
"Wow, thanks---WAIT, WHAT!?"
Turns out none of my classmates were qualified to go to competition, only me (for some odd reason), so I had to enter all the writing competitions and compete with other schools (that had groups). I will be honest when I say that I'm surprised I didn't get our school last place.
Anyway, I know you will do good! I have faith in you, and sorry for waking up so darn early! Nonetheless, I hope you have a good time over there.
I have rambled long enough...
Good luck, break a leg
(not literally)!3722282 I hear ya; I'm also a college student. It can get pretty tiring sometimes.
3722183 Nor do I, it was just making sure I had some time to eat breakfast and watch something before I went.
Sometimes, teachers are just cruel.
Having their students do things that conflict with how they operate and cause them pain is usually a sign of that.
