So who the heck is still here?

Man... just over 2 years since my last blog post -- and since that Aria/Rarity labor-of-love.

When you come across a song that...

    really brings a character mind?

I heard this in a mix earlier and my thoughts when straight to Aria. I think it kind fits the context of this story, even. It seems to evoke where Aria used to be, or perhaps to where she could have ended up, if something had taken a different turn along the narrative.

...said every "best dazzling" poll ever.

    - and this is actually one of the higher ones.

I-it's not like she cares, or anything...

So it's been a while, hasn't it? I've been absent, but not completely idle.

Seeing this image took me right back to this story

And while I still don't foresee finishing Homesick, at least for a long while, I wanted to share this. It perfectly encapsulates Adagio's state of mind in the first chapter.

    However -

    Hype?

I noticed a few days ago that Boomerang started re-running some of the old Genndy-and-crew shows. Dexter's Lab, Foster's, etc. My first thought, of course, was something akin to, "nice." But then my eyes widened. Because this must mean...

    oh.

    shit.

    ...

That news I heard around the end of last year must be coming to a head. And now just last night, this drops:

So yeah... · 5:15pm Jan 27th, 2016

I feel bad letting this story idle for so long, but the inspiration just isn't there right now for bridging from the previous chapter into my ideas for the final ~3 chapters. I know how I want it to end... it's just that middle part now for getting there.

And now with Blade & Soul just released...
Just, yeah.

(some of the aspects of this game give me such a Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon vibe, in an MMO, kinda digging it)

Writing is (for most of us) a hobby, not an obligation. If there's one thing I've learned in doing it, it's that obsessively typing Pony can be productive (in regard to more Pony), but draining, to the point that the story may suffer for it. (I've been using summarization rather than depiction a bit more often of late) Writing-wise, I'm a bit of mess with all the crud I'm working on, even without counting the stuff marked 'On Hiatus' or stuff I haven't even started publishing yet, but I still manage to publish something every now and then.

Don't worry too much about fanfic writing speed, I think that was my point there. Rome wasn't built in a day, but it sure burned in one. :coolphoto:

No worries; it happens. A friend got me a copy of Dragon Age: Inquisition back around Christmas that's been sucking up my time the past month or so. The multiplayer mode is surprisingly fun; it feels almost like raiding but it's more fast-paced and a much smaller group (4 players), plus the 'dungeons' only take like 15-20 minutes so it's easy to just hop on and play a game or two whenever you have the time.

It's hard to write horsewords when I could be punching a dragon in the face instead, :twilightsheepish:

Hey, no big. I've got similar troubles with one of mine - a big chunk towards the end is done and ready, it's getting to that point that's giving me trouble. Take the time you need to get it done.

My friend delays are a constant. With my current situation I often lack my old creative juice. You write as you can we'll be here, a fan told me that once shortly after my breakup, and it holds true to you at this point too.

Hey don't sweat it no need to force it out if you just don't know. This story is amazing but I'm sure we all can wait for it. And who knows sometimes the right idea hita at some random time.

Well, hell, I'll wait for approx. *checks watch* forever for an update. No biggie. Shit happens, moods change. Write when you're feeling inspired to.

Agreed on all counts, yeah. Felt like giving the update though, as it's already been my typical between-chapters duration, and I still haven't even started writing 7 yet. Thanks all.

And I still need to get to your latest - can't wait. But between that new game and the fact that 14k is hard-pressed to work into a lunch hour... ;)

This was pretty much me when Fallout 4 came out. And with my own story. :rainbowlaugh:
