For the purpose of this blog post, please know that I am on my hands and knees right now. Well, just my knees, actually. I need my hands to... you know. Type. Anyway.
I've got a new story out. It's based on Didj's 'My Little Mages' drawings. You might be familiar with them. The title of my story is "My Little Mages: The Nightmare's Return". It's a rewrite of the first two episodes of FiM, with a few... pretty big changes made. First and foremost, they're all humans (except for Spike), and also mages. It's also got a lot more action in it than the original, and I did my best to seal up some plot holes, such as where Celestia was during the whole incident. To quote Yondy (fellow My Little Mages author) it's kind of like a shonen anime. Applejack has a sword, Rainbow Dash has a bow, and Pinkie Pie has really, really big pockets.
I spent most of my summer working on this. I know it starts out slow, but the second half is where all the action is. I'll be updating it one chapter a day, and it'll start getting really interesting in chapter four.
Plus, don't tell anyone I said this to you, but... there's a scene where Derpy throws a muffin at Nightmare Moon.
Shhh.
I hate begging, but please read it, and PLEASE leave a comment. My ego needs your help. Plus, it's really good. It's got necromancers, and zombies, and werewolves, and magic, and a giant bear, and aw shit I wasn't supposed to tell you that. Uh, forget that last bit.
Yeah, as I mentioned on the story page, stories that are just "Let's retell the first two episodes, except they're all humans!" have a high quality bar to jump, but there's enough differences in this one that it's worth it.
