    Star of the Show 'rewrite'

The first chapter of this story was what bothered me the most, so I think subsequent rewrites will be less entire chapter overhauls and more akin to editing pieces of the chapter that I don't vibe with. With the exception maybe of the chapter where Nemesis storms Ellura HQ in Manehattan, that one may get some significant rewrites. I can't tell when that'll happen of course, I'm on vacation

    First chapter rewrite

The first chapter of this story has been freshly rewritten from scratch. The cancelled tag remains for now.

This does not promise that the story is coming back, all I know is that the first chapter was bothering me and I hated how it was written, so I revised it.

The main thing you need to know is that watchful wings = ellura.

Just so we're absolutely clear on my stance of recent things

Hate is not free speech. If you advocate to give hate a platform on which to speak, you are advocating the spreading of its message. It's not censorship, it's called being a decent fucking human being.

I do not stand for racist or fascist groups, I have zero tolerance for such waste, and if you keep defending its inclusion under the rights of 'free speech', then you are part of the problem.

I'm making Super Mario Maker 2 Levels!

I used to make stuff back on SMM1, but it was pretty beginner level stuff and I had no idea what I was doing.

and the same truth holds here! Kinda. I'm trying to improve.

I'd still definitely consider myself a beginner, so if any of you guys happen to have SMM2 and would like to give me some advice, it'd be appreciated.

I only have two levels so far:

Just got around to watching 'Between dusk and dawn'

Literally the very first scene, Loon and Celly fight a giant mountain turtle

Literally my reaction as I watched:

"Oh, giant mountain turtle? I wrote about that before, though celly and loon were fighting it, not the mane si-"

    Celly and Loon show up

"HOLD UP A SECOND WHAT THE FU-"

I won't lie. I'm pissed. Pissed about a few things that happened. You can read about that here: https://www.fimfiction.net/group/205425/displaced/thread/233434/a-notice-of-resignation-from-your-former-admin

I think I've dealt with more drama since I joined Displaced than I've put up with ever in my life at all. When did writing about colorful equines become such a problem?

I don't know, I don't care, it's behind me now.

I'm not sure what I'm gonna do or what's gonna happen after this, hopefully things can go back to the simplistic way they were for me, but seriously.

My mind is staggering from the sheer 'what the fuck' I've had to put up with recently.

If you've got anything to say or any questions or whatever, feel free to ask below. I'll get around to them when I can.

Very important Question:
Want a hug?

3707993
And so on this day, one huge twat hugged the brains out of someone who really needed it, and the resulting expulsion of gray matter sent a shockwave that eradicated all stupidity from the world.

But seriously, I hope you feel better soon.

Why do we need stories at all? What is the reason for them?
The lore of Displaced is just another story. Jsyrin probably started it, and the guy who starts a story tends to be the one who writes it. I am not trying to say you are wrong, I for one never really took care about the lore.
I guess what I want to say is, farewell.
Sometimes, a sentence just takes you long to write... sometimes, it doesn't. But aren't you doing the same thing both times? One is written out of feelings different from the other.
Farewell, -TGM-.

Displaced is a mess. It needs a lot of restructuring, and the fact that Mr. J got the lorist job again, even after FlutterWitch flat-out admitted in another thread that someone else had a much better and more interesting idea for it than anything that currently existed, shows that they don't give a shit about changing anything.

You were one of the only admins in that group that I saw as sensible and level-headed. And I can absolutely vouch for your attempts to steer things in the right direction. Hopefully Shocks does get your position, because I don't know who else is gonna be that voice of reason.

All I have to say is:

Wow.

As I've said before. When you cavort with idiots, one of them will eventually pee on you. I really hope you can concentrate on your own ideas now. Probably a far better use of your immense talent than wasting it on those buffoons.

Hey TGM...so I came back online and saw your thread. I'm sad, very sad, to see you leave the group. You were one of the most level-headed and kind admins that our group had, and seeing that you've stepped down really bums me out. You took adminship to help us, to help the group. You helped improve the group and keep it clean from the mess that was idea threads. You did a stellar job, which only upsets me more to see someone who worked so hard leave after such a train-wreak of unneeded drama.

It was not long ago that I came to you for advice and help, and you answered me with kindness and patience and treated me with respect. This is something rare to find on the internet, and while there were plenty of others from Displaced and other groups that are kind to me, you really made my day by helping me out. I look up to you as an author and admin, so please don't feel like you completely wasted your time helping us out, because you didn't.

You've shown me better ways of using criticism to help others and I can't thank you enough for that. I can only try with some others to continue the improvement of the group that you and other admins started, and hopefully we can stay on track. Both you and Shocks brought something new to the group when you came to be an admin, and I don't want to see that go so quickly.

My only hope is that you find something fun to do now that you've left the group! Stop by Pokémon Fics some time for a chat, we're all happy when members just come by and talk about whatever when it comes to Pokémon, and I know I've seen you there before!

Anyways, see you around!

Your pal,

Northern Desert33

I honestly have no clue why Jsyrin was made the "lorist" again. He's nothing but an edgy, immature joke of an admin. I really do hope you feel better though, because I've been through a similar situation with a group in the past, and it's certainly no fun

I certainly can’t blame you for leaving; it’s gotten to the point where I’m seriously considering rewriting my stories to remove their displaced status. I know I’ve never been terribly active in the groups forums or machinations and such, but I did lurk a lot and have always appreciated your efforts- so for whatever my thanks are worth, thanks for trying to help us for as long as you did

Shhh bae, I'm here. Let the sound of my voice calm you...

Well, could have been worse.

You could have been replaced in your sleep by a rogue founder admin and watch months of work get swept away, only for said rogue founder to go get himself permabanned. (But I'm sure every admin has a story like that tucked away somewhere.)

I saw your posts. They were really smart and composed. I honestly wondered what you were doing sharing adminiship with some of those strange, strange fellows. You strike me as far too good for them.

I really am not in the mindset to talk about Displaced or its lore, so I'll simply say that everyone has their own opinions and leave it at that. You take care too.

3708017

I appreciate that, and hopefully shocks or anyone fixes it like I couldn't.

3708020
Amazing, isn't it?

3708035

>immense talent

w-waifu, stahp... you're making me blush :twilightblush:

3708058

You're a butt.

3708103

Wow, I never even imagined that someone thought that highly of me. It feels a tad inappropriate to give a short response to such a long and well-thought-out post such as yours, but I simply can't put into words how happy that makes me feel.

Thank you so much for saying all of that.

3708441

People will be people. They made their decisions, I made mine, hopefully it's all in the past now.

3708526

I tried. I'm glad people noticed my efforts. Thanks!

(Gosh I feel like the majority of my responses for this blog are just 'thanks!')

3708641

:fluttercry: Shocks, pls hold me...

3708654

trying to fix what was broken. Now I'm wondering if it's even fixable. I know it's hard to believe, but there was a time when stories like that were actually enjoyable. Of course, that's when it was a new, interesting concept. Not the enormous circlejerk it's become today.

But I digress, thanks!

3710617 Yeah, uh... Shocks left not long after you did. Found out this morning.

3710617 Fair play, I suppose.

To be frank, if one of my friends wasn't desperately trying to make it work, I don't think I'd really care much for Displaced. Then again, I'm consistently a year or two behind the bandwagon, so if it ever looked good, I'm afraid I would have completely missed it. It looked like a rather simple premise got hit with a rather severe case of scope creep.

Which is troublesome, because like most things with 'creep' in the name, you don't really notice it until it's tapping you on the shoulder and asking you for your pocket-money.

Although I have to ask, what exactly was interesting about the premise? From what I gather, it's just human goes to Equestria, + powers, when you get past all the 'multiverse' nonsense on that Lore page. I've not read the original Displaced story, so how exactly did they capture your interest?

3710617 Hugs intensify.

Well for me, the premise of a human winding up in a foreign land in a body that isn't theirs is really interesting to me. And since the 'human turning into pony' thing has been done to death and back so many times that I was getting bored of it, I suppose the human winding up as something else in Equestria was an interesting premise to me.

Even more interesting to me is the human slowly losing themselves in the character. My character, for instance (Nicholas, who is Nemesis right now) is fighting a battle to not become the rampaging virus monster that nemesis is in the Resident Evil games. Unlike most Displaced he does not want to become in mind what he is in body. Though most Displaced do the exact opposite of that, it's the premise itself I find interesting.

Plus if it wasn't a typical 'seventh element' scenario, it's always intriguing to see how a new presence affects the outcome of a world that's had its destiny set in stone. (Though I admit I could have done mine a lot better.)
