A few thoughts on the concept of dreaming... · 8:12pm Jan 20th, 2016
A thing which I have noticed lately is that me dreams are dull. Not all random and crazy like dreams are stereo-typed to be, but just - dull.
And thus, I don't remember them.
'But how can you know your dreams are dull if you can't remember them?' I hear you ask.
Well, now and again I get that event which seems unrealistic. Often, I don't realise the reality defying event 'till near the end of the dream. I may not be speaking for everyone, but I can't resist the chance for a lucid dream, so when I realise I am dreaming, I try to control the dream. Unfortunately for me, when I put my mind out of 'neutral' and try to think logically, I wake up. But I digress.
A theory for why we dream is that the brain reshelves our memories from short to long term, and the dreams are just the fragments of our memories rationalised.
So, does that mean my life is dull?
Meh, probably.
Often I try not to stay awake past 22:00. But as we all know, there is always that book (or fic, in this case) that we can't put down and we just keep on reading and reading and reading...
And those few extra minutes all rack up.
And that's what I did last night.
Then that night my dreams were chaotic. Like, 'Discords Apprentice' Chaotic.
(why am I writing so many lines?)
So, why does that happen?
Anyway, I am all out of intelligent stuff so if I keep writing I would probably turn into Pinkie. So, good night! (or morning/afternoon/evening/apocalypse....)
