Learn to love the writing, of telling a story that you want told, and not the recognition that comes with it. When skill and passion atrophy, write for yourself, and in time, you'll inspire others.

    Calling all my Former Proofreaders

This goes out to everyone who has helped me with my stories these past few years. Firstly, thank you so much, I could never have gotten as far as I have without you. You've been inspirational, a pick-me-up, and oftentimes good friends when it came to what I was writing and dealing with, as have all the fans who have read my works. Again, I thank you all for being there with me through

    Major Update

Wow, it's been nearly a year since my last blog post. Time sure has flown this year, what with two jobs, a lot of work on some of my stories, and a great deal of time spent trying to make sure it all comes together.

Should I take them? I have been contacted in the past concerning them, though decided against it at the time, and would be tickled pink if people actually wanted me to do such. However, I would likely have a few ground rules.

1. No odd or disturbing fetishes (farting, watersports, soft/hard vore, scat), as I could not be serious enough to write them, which would detract from my ability to write them well, and that would be a disservice to the person paying for them. I have no experience with such fetishes, and frankly, just can't bring myself to write them.

2. I write when I can, as much as I can. If the one-shot story takes a month to write because of life or other projects, then it will take a month. I will update the commissioner as to how I am progressing when I determine I actually have made progress.

3. The commissioner will be fully involved in the story's progress, aka helping me with trouble spots or perhaps helping with small edits. I cannot be given a general idea and having people be dissatisfied because I took it in a different direction than what they had originally envisioned but never told me.

4. Payment would be whatever they think is fair until I determine an average rate for a story, perhaps based on length or how satisfied the customer is with the finished product.

Thoughts?

do you have a limit on length of stories commissioned?
Maybe you could also put up like a preliminary fee list, like for stories ranging from 3000 words or less you could have what you consider a fair amount like 10 bucks or whatever you consider fair. and the cost for stories of course varies upon you most, but putting up a list of a starting price that is negotiable could be a good idea

3700650 Hmm, I'd rather not do cost by just length, only because if I want to really put a shitload of effort into a short story, it won't stay short for long, and the originally 8K-word story might end up as 12K or more, and as such I'd hate to charge more because of it.

I think I'd charge on a scale of sorts, perhaps by combining genre, length, characters, setting and overall purpose (is it a romantic piece, a pure clop-fest, a dark look into the lives of everyday ponies, etc), as well as a few other factors.

Only do as much as you are willing, but I honestly think you should do this to help get over random writers blocks!
