Long Week of Friendship 2: Friendship Harder—Revenge of the Friendship, Extended Edition · 5:18am Jan 18th, 2016
I can see it. The end of the road.
Since about the 20th of December until last Thursday, I've cranked out about 35,000 words for Long Road to Friendship. I guess Nanowrimo paid off, huh?
As it stands, there's seven chapters between me and the 'complete' button on this story. Technically, it's done.
Long Road to Friendship is finished.
I can't even quite process that, perhaps because the chapters haven't been posted yet. But that's two novels under my belt, both extending past 200,000 words.
This is part where I'd laugh maniacally but I'm a little too tired to do that. I spent a majority of my vacation staying up until 3 in the morning churning out 2 to 3k per night. I'm not complaining. But with the weekend I've had, I'm running on about 10 hours of sleep in the last 4 days.
It's freakin' glorious, you don't even know.
Anyway, to the point! This is the end, friends! I need one week to comb over everything and make sure it's all picture perfect for its prestigious presentation. Thus, the second Long Week of Friendship will begin Monday, January 25th, and I will post a chapter every day until the 31st. Then, you guys get to see the postscript where I ramble about everything wrong with the story (and some of the good parts) then we call it quits.
So many feels, so many people to thank, so many words written. I won't hype anything, I'll just tell you that I packed as much love and enjoyment as I could into each chapter, and I liked how it all came out. It's not perfect, but I think it meets my standards, which is pretty good since I took a month off from writing ponies and I hadn't touched this story since September.
Also, Cadence has become one of my favorite characters. Just putting that out there.
So, join me next Monday where I walk down the real homestretch of the story and answer the one question you're all dying to know.
Special thanks to the one song I listened to for five hours on repeat while writing chapter 38.

As with any story, it's always bittersweet getting to the ending. On the one hand, it's great getting resolution and HAVING an ending instead of rambling on...But on the other I always wanna read more
Haha, Cadence has really grown on me too after reading LordBrony's "Sunset Reset". She's really become the voice-of-reason in a lot of stories lately ^^.
It's wonderful that you're feeling so great :D. I feel like grumpy LRTF Squidwardy-Sunset is finally on the homestretch. Now it's time for her to be the hero that nobody, even herself, really expects her to be <3.
By the way, I know absolutely nothing about that game series but that is one crazy guitar solo :D.

Can't wait! I think I picked the wrong time to read this story originally (it was still on hiatus when I read it) and I knew I was just going to be vibrating in anticipation for the next chapters (I wasn't wrong) between you and the few other writers I keep up with I haven't had many updates to my favorite stories in the last 2-2 1/2 months

Yeah, still not sure whether to be more happy or sad that this great story is almost at the conclusion. I'm still having a hard time processing going through the last few chapters all in a week.
I was only here for a tiny part of the ride, but so looking forward to this, great way to start the year off.
This is my favorite Shimmer fic so I'm pretty excited. Happy to know there's gonna be a resolution soon.
