The young man was heading to his room to get ready for the night when he saw the door to Aria's room was open. While not one to eavesdrop, he couldn't help but catch what sounded like a conversation going on inside. "Would you like to have another cup of tea?" That was definitely Aria's voice. But there was some doubt, since he couldn't ever recall hearing her speak so...politely.

A second voice, made to sound husky and joyful, replied. "Why I was just about to ask, thank you. You're very thoughtful of your guests!" He glanced at the sliver of light pouring through the crack made by the door being slightly ajar. "I'll be sure to tell all of my friends about you, so everyone will want to enjoy your company like I do!" That was the final straw. Giving into temptation he swiftly and quietly leaped forward to find out just what the heck was going on by peering into the room. However, he misjudged the distance to the door and his foot bumped against it, causing it to swing in.

The sight of Aria Blaze with a tea cup in hand and sitting across from a stuffed bear was already enough to jar the young man's image of the usually-stoic girl. "I always enjoy our tea parties, Mr. Pan-..." But the utter shock—like a deer caught in a set of headlights—aimed toward him when the door swung open, made it all the harder to react fast enough when Aria pulled him into the room and slammed the door shut. "What are you even doing here?!" She demanded.

"I...live here?" He replied, still confused but slowly getting over the initial shock. "What about you?"

"It's for my job."

He blinked before replying, having regained a bit more of his emotions now. "The one at the mall? I thought you were one of those apathetic sales clerks hanging out in a dimly lit clothing store that smells way too much like body spray."

She rolled her eyes and crossed her arms. "I was, thinking it'd easy money, but it was totally lame."

"Surprised," he replied flatly.

Aria didn't seem to notice as she continued, letting out a breathy sigh. "The other workers kept going on and on about how bored they were. Gave it a week, but it just wasn't for me, you know?" She tilted her head to and fro and shifted her stance, as if to illustrate her impatience. He narrowed his eyes and wondered how he was supposed to react. His attention flickered between the twin-tailed girl and the tea party set up. At the very least the mystery of where his mother's house warming gift that he kept in the dining room cabinet that had disappeared was now solved. She caught what he was doing but continued. "So the day I quit I was on my way to the food court when there's this old lady store manager in like, her thirties, got my attention to stop and talk by saying she liked my necklace. I mention I was working in the clothing store, but I quit, then she started talking about her store. This place is for little girls and stuff. Super girly, y'know? I thought, 'I shouldn't but maybe I might give it a try' and there's this party of little brats having a tea party, right?"

It took a moment to imagine what was taking place but he didn't want to interrupt what was probably the longest amount of time that Aria's ever spent talking to him. Or probably anyone for that matter.

"At first I'm thinking, 'yeah, this is lame,' but this little kid runs over to me and says 'I like your hair' like how kids do. It was...it was cute." Aria rubbed her arm and shrugged her shoulders, trying to make a show of how uninteresting her admission was. "I got dragged over to join the party and me and this other girl who worked at the store just hung out with these kids. It wasn't bad or anything, I guess. The manager offered me a job. It pays way better than that clothing store, so that's why I decided to try it."

He grinned and nodded his head at hearing the good news. "That's great. So you're gonna be a princess, or something?"

"No, a maid."

"Oh."

She was quick to leer at him and ask in a defensive tone, "What's that supposed to mean?"

"I meant it in a good way. Like, oh," he responded as fast he could and even added a thumbs up for good measure.

She crossed her arms and huffed out, "You are the worst. Don't patronize me."

"No, of course not. I'm trying to panda-rize."

Aria glared daggers at him. "You. Didn't." Before he could tack on more puns, she began to push him toward the door. "Shut up. Just get out, now."

It was impossible to hold back a bit of laughter by this point and he could tell she was only half as mad as she made it seem she was from how much effort she put into pushing him. "While I'm here I might as well tell you that I probably won't be around to cook dinner tonight. I got a job interview, too."

"Ok," she said with a forced frown on her face. "What does this have to do with me?"

"For you to tell Adagio and Sonata. And also so you can cook dinner."

"What?" She stopped pushing him but her hands remained on his back.

"I know you can cook. You really think the dishes just magically clean themselves when you're done? Besides, I don't trust either of those two near the kitchen," he said unabashedly.

"...you better not tell anyone you saw this," Aria growled out as her pushing resumed.

He shrugged. "I dunno. I'm thinking I could use this to blackmail you, or something."

"You do and you're dead." She held onto the collar of his shirt while leaning around him to open her door.

"It's whoever moves first."

"Alright. You're dead when you come back from your interview. Poison."

He laughed one more time as he stumbled out into the hallway, declaring before the door slammed in his face, "Looking forward to it!"
