The Code Series - Emerald Flare, Code of Dissonance, and Unrealized Projects

Continuing with a longstanding desire to put old works to rest, this blogpost goes over the extremely scattered notes, ideas, basic plot threads and ideas that would have taken The Code's Apprentice stories to a 5 story... conclusion of sorts.

The Twilight Shadow - Basic Plot Outline Spoiler for Twilight War sequel.

As long promised, below was the full outline - along with a couple of half-finished scenes and a big prologue blurb - for The Twilight Shadow, the Penultimate "Twilight Struggle" story, and sequel to The Twilight War. These are mostly short blurbs, along with chapter names, and a general outline of the final set of events. I have other notes, but they're extremely rambly, and not terribly well

    Looking Back

Been a long time, hasn't it?

I know a lot of you have probably moved on, but I figured I at least owed it to the longtime followers - and continued readers - to finally check in.

    Another year passed.

So if you're wondering where I've been, here's the short version.

Living outside of a home of your own kinda sucks, and my new job is incredibly time and energy demanding.

The long version takes a bit more.

Advent of the Dreamverse · 1:58pm Jan 9th, 2016

Ayo all, Inky Jay here. As I mentioned back in the Author’s Notes for chapter four of All In the Making, that story and First Seconds are both part of a growing project. And this is the promised blog post explaining myself.

I’m certain a fair few of you have at least heard mention or seen the art in passing of Lopoddity or kilala97. More specifically, their MLP next gen work. And that idea is always something that captivated me and somehow seemed to deftly avoid the cliche OC issue. Having wanted to attempt something similar for a good while now, here we are. With my good artist friend, Ambris, I will be fleshing out a fully realized MLP next gen to be known as the Dreamverse (after Dream Dash, the first next gen character to appear from First Seconds).

The currently established pairings and next gens follow in brief:

Fleetfoot x Big Macintosh, no kids

Rainbow Dash, single mother - only child, bat pony Dream Dash

Soarin’ x Spitfire - two sisters, pegasi Searin’ Wren and Lovejay

Twilight Sparkle x Sunset Shimmer - three adopted, two colts and one filly, crystal ponies Ruby’s Spark, Diamond Night, and Golden Weave

Sweetie Belle x Diamond Tiara - Sweetie’s daughter, unicorn Arcadia

Trixie Lulamoon, single mother - filly alicorn Resonance Lulamoon, colt unicorn Sunside Lulamoon

Now, yes, there are more pairs and more next gens I have. But for those I haven’t listed I don’t have any sort of story I’m ready to tell or outright lack names at the moment. Rest assured, more posts on the Dreamverse will come as those things become more solidified.

But for now, the roster. All In the Making finishes up in about three weeks (not accounting for fast approaching Navy transfer date at the end of January, which is pretty much guaranteed to cause delays on my side). Between its conclusion and the beginning of the next fic in the lineup, the idea will be for Ambris to have released two pieces of art involving Soarin’ and Spitfire’s two fillies. That art will head the next fic, which is about Searin’ Wren and Lovejay. From there… who knows. I’ll keep you all updated.

Cheers!
Inky

Figured someone would comment on that. Thank Celestia it wasn't the vitriolic response I was anticipating.

I love reading "next-gen" 'verses, but they can be notoriously tricky to navigate; as such, I have to ask: will you be creating a group to organize the stories as you write them?
