Well, I suppose it was bound to happen... I saw a picture on DeviantArt by the talented BellalyseWinchester that I would love to see somebody write, someday.

As I understand the premise, Discord decides to conquer Equestria. However instead of the cliched Discord rampage (you know the troupe... Killer Discord), the old Draconequus decides that easing himself into the seat of power might be easier if he doesn't completely remove the Equestrian government. To this end, he corrupts (and presumably lies/sweat talks) Apple Bloom into being the perfect Alicorn figurehead for his new regime.
While this could be a deep and interesting premise all of its own, I think it may actually be more powerful with a slight twist... In the image Apple Bloom appears to be in a state of hypnosis. And this reminded me of Discord's infamous personality swap spell. This is where I am imaging a story where Apple Bloom's friends, and family (and most likely their friends) fight to not just upturn Discord's regime, but break the mind altering spells ensorcering Apple Bloom's mind.

I love the idea and what if AppleBloom likes it? That would make a new villain
3722005 I think that was actually the intention by BellalyseWinchester... It's a shame he didn't put it to words. I've seen a few fics on his DeviantArt page... But saddly, not this one.
Which is why I'm hoping someone writes this gem one of these days.
