Update and Announcements for Taming the Storm · 3:01am Jan 8th, 2016
This is going to be one of three individual blog posts concerning my 'main' stories. The focus of this blog, if you couldn't tell by the title and by a similar set up to my just seconds ago blog, will be for Taming the Storm. I will be tagging only Taming the Storm, but I may yet think of other things I wanted to add on the bottom of this. I'm going to add a page break (which hopefully works, someone please comment if it does) so people won't get three long blog posts by me in rapid succession. (Yes, I did edit how long the story is. I cut down on it pretty well, and it shows, but without losing what is needed for four ponies to grow and three different relationships to build)
So, it was pointed by Innocent shypony (who did some nice basic math), that my update rate is very very slow and wouldn't finish with any regard for my age and the age of my readers. I took a look and thought about how to really speed up how I update. For those who didn't read/notice the comment, Taming the Storm is 20% done. It is very much the longer than all the other stories. For those who want to know, TTS has 75 chapters planned. Only 15 of which are actually finished. I may end up cutting plot/chapter ideas out, just to help shorten it. But first, I want to try and get as much done as I can.
As my new job as a Bus Aid means I have time in the middle of the day to potentially write more. However, I'm still balancing Girl Scouts, art hobbies and other fun things to do as well as writing. I do need things to help break up writing to avoid burning out, but then it's hard to focus more time on fanfiction as I don't earn money on making those. I do have a book I was hoping to write for publication, and writing pony fanfiction takes a LOT of time. If you would like to help, perhaps become a Patreon. I do understand not wanting to pay for fanfiction though, since it's just for pony fun. Though the world does run on money. And ponies.
I'm still young though, with many years left to me and I shan't give up! In fact, so many consider me as highly immature that I may even have longer than the usual adult who fails at adulting to do fun easy going stuff. I want to finish these main stories in next few years. I really do want to. And I shall keep trying.
What does this mean for TTS? It means that I will be doing updates for the three stories in chunks. Aside from trying to set aside time every day to write, it will also make things flow faster and help make it easier to get chapters out. So 'A 'not so simple' simple life' will be the next to get several chapters written for it, after which will be 'A new kind of party'. Then Taming the storm will get several chapters, four to five or so at the least. I will try to go by the 'flow' and when is a good pausing point. I know that this makes TTS the last one of the three to be updated, but believe me, soon it will be the only story I have left to write about due to how much longer it is compared to the others.
I am probably forgetting something. Hopefully I remember by the time I make the last blog of the night for NSSSL. Please feel free to comment below anything, ideas, suggestions, thoughts, whatever you'd like. I like to hear from my readers. Thanks and see you in the next blog. Maybe. If you care about Rarijack.
Damn.
You have long way to go, or shall I say long way to write....
Okay that line was so lame, but you know what I mean. But for real, TTS is only 15% done.
How long is that story? Plus with other two story.
Just damn.
So I wish you good luck fellow writer.
Finish! Finish until you reach the end!
3673433 well, i did say how many chspters, in that one line of spoiler text. It's a lot 100 chapters, 85 left for just tts. But yeah, i may have planned more than i can actually write. We'll see.
Thanks for your comment and well wishes. Same for you, may the blank blocks of non-writing flee before us
