Or "The Journey of an Unlikely Fanfic Writer"
I know this is a bit late for the New Year, but in my defense I was working on Chapter 2 for The Ponies who Played with Fire.
(Regarding that: I wasn't able to get that chapter finished by the end of 2015, but I do have most of it written and am currently doing the editing and rewriting. So I can say that the chapter will be posted in January.)
It's kind of weird for me to look back and remember how I ended up on this site.
You've probably all heard this before but I originally started writing and posting TDwtDT on fanfiction back in June 2014. I'd expected the story to be mostly ignored because of my choice of crossover material, and I was okay with that since I was just writing the thing to get the idea out of my system so I could go back to focusing on my own fiction. But then the story started getting more and more reviews from people saying they were enjoying it and I started getting more invested in trying to make it the best I could.
From there I have Misskoifishpony (who I met while on Fanfiction.net) to thank for prompting me to get a Fimfiction account here and start posting TDwtDT here as well. If that hadn't happened, I probably wouldn't have met Nightwalker and he probably wouldn't have been able to give me some pointers to improve TDwtDT. Nor help me edit the future chapters or put the story in various groups. (Can't thank you enough for that, man.)
Of course I also want to thank everyone who has favorited and/or commented on TDwtDT because knowing that you were able to enjoy the story has been incredibly rewarding. (Though at the same time, don't worry about hurting my feelings if you have any criticisms or suggestions that you feel would improve the story.)
Now onto the future:
My New Years Resolution (at least as far as Fimfiction is concerned) is to try and finish The Ponies who Played with Fire by the end of this year. Considering TDwtDT took a bit over a year to finish, and TPwPwF will have fewer chapters than TDwtDT (though I won't say just how many it will have, or what their word count will be), here's hoping I can keep that resolution.
Other then that, I hope and pray that you all have a good, reasonably happy, reasonably healthy new year.
