    Remembering Koji Wada

Like every year, I like to remember the man/legend responsible for the theme songs of one of my favorite shows of all time on the anniversary of his death.

So if you were wondering about the timing for the latest Isekai chapters? There you go.

    Welp, here's a life update

These last couple of weeks have been a bit of a rollercoaster. Good things have happened, and also bad ones. No wonder I could relate to both Furina and Navia in the latest Isekai chapter. Sometimes pretending things are fine is really exhausting, even if they do get better.

    Welp, another year older and...

...still writing ponies. (Among other things, granted.)

Update to the Isekai coming tonight! And some additional details and change of plans.

First, to everyone waiting patiently for the next Isekai chapter, I apologize for the delay. I know there are a lot of people that want to see another visit to Hell happen soon, and it will, I promise. However, due to some circumstances, I decided for a different pair of visitors to visit the bar this week.

    Boost Reminder!

As discussed not too long ago, local legend and friend Skeeter The Lurker suffered some devastating losses that impaired his ability to work and live. We've all done well to get him close to achieving his objective, but he's still a bit short! Just saying, that if 10% of all of you awesome people that follow me donated a dollar

'15 A Year in Retrospect - The Good, the Sad, the Bad and the Downright Moronic · 5:01am Jan 1st, 2016

So another year goes by, and here we are again. There's a lot to be thankful for, of course—my readers and followers for one, who have stuck with me through all this time here in fimfiction. My patrons... without their help sometimes getting through the month would have been a nightmare! All my friends here, who've kept up with my insufferable self... most specially Knighty, Xaq, Meeester, Eldorado, Alexstraza, Obselescence and more recently Ches and Plum... this site wouldn't be the same without its moderation team who happens to be probably the most involved site-staff I've ever had the pleasure of working with. Say what you may—you can always reach one of us.

Seattle's Angels (Corejo, C2, Seattle Lite, Alexmagnet, Belligerent Sock, BP, Pav, Ferret, Raz, Red and the three secret new members, one of which drinks a lot of Scotch, and another likes Shampoo apparently), Present Perfect, Titanium Dragon, Chris and Paul Asaran for doing reviews of stories so consistently and also populating my "read later" list with little gems I would have let pass otherwise.

Special mention to Burraku_Pansa with whom I've shared really strange bonding experiences. Like... really strange. But, he's kept up with my mad mutterings and calmly read through my ramblings when I needed someone to bounce ideas of. I hope I didn't drive him to alcoholism.

Pen Stroke, Short Skirts, Lucky Dreams, Municipal Engines, Capn' Chryssalid, Dromicosuchus, Arad, and so many amazing authors here that are not only inspiration but friends... yeah guys, I know it's selfish to say, but don't ever stop writing and creating.

Robcakeran, Midnight Dancer and Distorted Flare who happen to be best Santa Elves in the universe. (Middy is best sexy elf)

Abyss and Socks, dudes. (So much I want to say but I have to keep this SFW.) Regi, Para, Gears, Manaphy, Deluxe with whom I have shared metaphorical drinks because they're too far away, but that reminds me I shouldn't forget Admiral Biscuit (since 197-something.) with whom I actually do drink in person along with Rob. (Eat that, MLD rabid fans)

And yeah. So many people I can't even.

And then of course, there's that moment where we reflect on the utterly good, bad and moronic that happened in the year. Since I don't want to bore you with personal life stuff... let's keep it to fimfic!

The Good:

Got a paper letter from Ponky! - Remember when Ponky went all the way to Italy and the only way to contact him was through mysterious, esoteric ways such as writing a letter and burning it while chanting in dark and forgotten languages? Apparently it works better than writing Santa, and I got a letter back!

6 blogs about writing! - This year I wrote/ranted about writing 6 times! Sure, it's not the 16 writing blogs of 2012, but I've been blogging a lot less than back then.

Did the "I Write Like" thingy, which exploded all over the place, and the whole thing got blamed on me even if I saw it on someone else's blog first!

OC Slamjam begins and everyone that participates past round 2 goes crazy and makes fake accounts! Eventually the last fics are done and the contest is over, but there were some really cool entries there!

Episode 100! Sure your mileage may vary and I completely respect your opinion, but if you didn't like it, you're wrong.

SWAT-KATS REVOLUTION! The fundraiser was done and for some reason I can't understand it was severely expensive. We'll see what happens!

Bronycon! So much fun, and I got to meet in person new people I hadn't met before!

Had drinks with Robcakeran53 and Admiral Biscuit https://www.fimfiction.net/user/Admiral+Biscuit! Still ongoing too! (Just not daily.)

EqD's NaPoWriMo! Didn't quite make the 50k, but... eh.

The Season finale! Alternate Universes are always an awesome thing!

The two or 3 promising or cool Season Finale fics that didn't just belly-flop into inconsequential quasi-philosophical bs!

New Stories:

TSC: Fracture!

The Pain of Eternity!

Gunsmoke!

Silent Jade!

The Sad

Terry Pratchett
Leonard Nimoy
B.B. King
Christopher Lee
R.I.P.

The Bad:

Big Jim being a bit of a dick to the fandom. (Not 100% undeserved, but hey.)

Another Spike episode where the guys writing the series prove they have no idea what to do with him.

Gave a story a chance of no less than, but up to 100 chapters for something—anything to happen before I quit... and it wasn't even finished 31 chapters later.

Every time I look at this image I hate Starlight Glimmer less. I hope Season 6 comes out soon so I can renew my hate!

The Season Finale! Too bad the Alternate Universes only lasted a few minutes at most and the 'villain' proved inconsequential in every iteration that came to pass.

Mediocre Alt-Universe fics that now feel 'justified' as canon because it's totally not something everyone else had done before ad infinitum. Yeah, I said it.

The Downright Moronic:

Signing in, looking at the front page and downvoting everything in sight without reading is still a thing, 4 years later.

Escaping fimfic to start your own site then acting exactly like how you swear moderators in fimifc act. When this is challenged, not only do you respond like a child and edit or delete people's comments, but you also can't seem to grasp how the reply button works. In a word? Hypocritical. In two words? Downright Moronic.

Conspiracy theories! By the gods this is the year of the conspiracies. From thinking we have a set of rules for dealing with specific users (as if we cared about them enough to spend our precious time thinking about them) to knighty secretly working behind the scenes so that only the people he "likes" get featured... I'm fairly sure he has no clue who's on the FB at this time or who they are, where they came from or even how they registered.

Seriously though, if there's something that was not only downright moronic, but it spread like a flame made of fecal matter this year was the pity-party-turned-conspiracy-theory for certain users having to follow the rules everyone else gets to follow. The main difference is having a bunch of followers to complain to... and not.

BTW I'm not calling anyone out on being upset—I mean, being upset is understandable, especially if you're on the receiving end of something you consider unfair or didn't expect. Hell, it happens all the time. It's the escalating reaction that was moronic. Like, hurtfully so in many levels. Especially since so many involved are usually sane, amiable individuals. I guess that's what herd mentality does for you!

Would it matter if this random, innocent story was forcefully snowballed into a desperate need for attention and bandwagoning?

Starlight Glimmer's Origin! Of! Evil!

Anyway! Happy New Year, everyone! And thanks for all the pone!

Happy new year, bb <3

I need to buy an elf costume now

Is it sad that I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about with more then half of your moronic part?

3655488 No, actually that is very, very good!

3655510 but now I'm curious about this nega-fimfiction.

Is there some place where people who can't cut it on Fimfiction, of places, go to stew and plot their next move against your tyranny?

That'd probably be an interesting place to check out.

Happy new year!

And I still stand behind my comment about Glimmer. Her backstory makes her one of the more understandable villains in my mind because I can empathize with how she developed. I also greatly enjoyed having a 'smaller scale' villain. No longer is it a monster that Celestia swept under the rug and forgot about a thousand years ago that threatens to destroy the world.

Gave a story a chance of no less than, but up to 100 chapters for something—anything to happen before I quit... and it wasn't even finished 31 chapters later.

That sounds like an extremely long fic. :rainbowderp:

Also, I do like how the Season 5 finale can fit under both the good and the bad, though I can see why that would be the case. Speaking of the show, here's hoping that Season 6 as a whole is as wonderful as Season 5.

Happy New Year! I hope you have a wonderful future and I wish you the best of luck on your future projects!

Happy new year to you too, WD, from the land down under, where it's been new years day for... over half a day now.

Happy new year, you son of a breezie! :pinkiehappy:

For some reason I thought this was Present Perfect's blog, despite reading you thanking him as President Perfect.

PP, you are a butt

Bahahaha all of this is 100% true.

Happy New Years, bro! I hope you're as drunk as I am!

Herd mentality? As if I can't be a dumbass entirely on my own volition.

But, ehh, happy new years.

Perhaps I'm the only guy who hated episode 100.
I mean, it was a milestone episode, and they gave the most boring, meme filled episode they could.
I expected waaaaay better.

Wait wait wait wait wait...

SWAT Kats? As in, "SWAT Kats" SWAT Kats? How is this a thing I haven't heard of

Aw, thanks.

Happy New Year to you, too!

Happy New Year!

One can only hope that next year's derp is sufficiently different from this year's derp.

hey I got mentioned in a wanderer d blogpost
at last I can finally die

Happy New Year!

May 2016 be a good year for us all, a productive fanfic year, a year when Season Six makes its triumphant return and ends the hiatus with a bang! (Probably not in the Cloudkicker sense!) :pinkiehappy: :rainbowlaugh: :facehoof:

Of all the downright moronic stuff you mentioned, the downvote-at-sight brigade is the one I'm most frustrated and baffled by. Why? :raritydespair:

Wait, someone started their own website just to spite the mods on this one? How did I not know this?

Signing in, looking at the front page and downvoting everything in sight without reading is still a thing, 4 years later.

This. *sigh*

Anyway, happy new year!

It's the kind of a thing people do on internet. For any popular forum / fic site / whatever, there's a high likelihood of there being at least one site created by and for the people who got banned from it, and who are incredibly butthurt about it, often years later.

I'm popping in days late just to tell you you missed Wes Craven in the obituary bit.

Wait the knightly conspiracy theory's were serious? i though it was a bad joke (that i admittedly contributed to)

3664722 can we add actors who killed their careers? and wheres Robin Williams who i still say died to prevent miss doubtfire 2 from ever being made >.> <.<
