Been a While Hasn't It? · 7:08am Dec 28th, 2015
So it's been a minute since my last blog. My last update hasn't exactly been recent either huh? I suppose I've only myself to blame there. I should have guessed that getting a promotion would include a huge amount of extra responsibilities along with it. (Yay for my second promotion!) Still, I can't help but feel like I've all but abandoned FimFiction.
I do log in everyday, oddly enough. I just look at my notifications on my phone through out the day to see if anything interesting was happening. Kinda weird, eh? I don't exactly read fics on here, I've become more of a lurker who comes out when my groups have something being said in their blogs.
I HAVE been working on the next two updates. One of Sweetie's Shadow and one for Chains of Tartarus, the latter being left in obscurity simply because I haven't given it as much love as the former. I'm not happy with how the drafts are coming in the least. Not exactly writer's block, more like my writing isn't up to par with how I wanted the story to flow. Chains is especially hard to write for some reason. I'll work through it somehow. I just hope I don't take another couple months.
Who knows. Maybe if I just start up a One Shot or another fic to get the creative juices flowing again I might get my grove back.
Still, I would hate to simply pop in and leave ya'll with nothing but hopes. How about I show ya'll some of my sketches? Those are always available since I never go a week without at least picking up my sketch book.
First of, Merry Christmas! I know it's a wee bit late, but better late than never, right? I didn't know what to draw, so I just Sombra's family from Shadow's Enigma exchange presents.
While Sombra and Pinkie share a blanket and talk about this and that, their daughter Shade comes over and gives a surprise present to Sombra. What's in the box I wonder.
Don't like how Sweetie Belle come out here. Her head, or eyes just seem to big. Still, I spent quite a bit of time on it, so it can't be that bad.
I, however, DO like how this one came out. Cute huh?
Just my two Sombras back to back. Not much thought went into this one.
The Sombra incarnation from a fic I'm thinking of starting soon. I still haven't settled on the title for the fic, but for those that have read my previous blogs will know this Sombra as the Infamous Scythe.
I really wish I know how to use drawing programs. I wanted to have a radient moon of the cliff Sombra is on, but it would look like a sun if I sketched it.
I'm thinking of replacing the current cover art for One Last Goodbye with this one.
Now's a little but of a spoiler here. Well, not really. Just know, this scene takes place in the final chapter of Sweetie's Shadow. All I'm going to say is that Sombra's dark magic flame of a cutiemark gets a special kind of insignia added behind it as he comes to Sweetie's rescue.
Also. He's pissed.
So what do ya'll think? Have my sketching skills degenerated while away from fimfic?
THESE ARTS LOOK GREAT. That SombraPie one gave me freaking whiplash since I got fell back into SombraPie hell. Also, dude, don't feel bad for not updating your stories. There is nothing in this world that blooms year round; you cannot be expected to do so, either.
Great pictures. I think it may be that you drew Sweetie Belle to be a little too large, and that is why it looks odd. Remember, in the last season finale, we saw Sombra alongside the crystal ponies. He looks to be around Luna's height, or thereabouts, due to his longer than average legs. To him, Sweetie Belle would look like a small kitten sitting on his back. Still, brilliant art. And that last one, so much foreshadowing.
As ever, don't worry about the wait for chapters. We'd all rather have something that is up to your high standard than something sub-par. Glad to hear the 'Chains of Tartarus' is still going too.
There is no harm in using tech drawing programs, but I believe pencil art is great. Your art looks well done and shows how much of a hard worker you are.
