[Oreonna One-Shot] Revenge · 4:55pm Dec 26th, 2015

Suggested, or rather brought up, by psychoman4

This One-Shot takes place during the time when Oreonna is in her late teens. In this universe, Tukson has already met Neo and had little Oreo with her, which the White Fang graciously allowed. It wasn't until much later when Oreonna convinced her father to leave the White Fang and begin his life anew. Eight o'clock in the evening had already passed, the exact time Oreonna expected her father to arrive at the Vale train station for Vacuo. She still had half-an-hour left before the train actually left, however, so she assumed he was running a little late. Still, she couldn't help but feel slightly worried for her father. Very rarely would he ever be late for something as important as starting a new life and moving away from the White Fang forever. So patiently she waited, wearing her favorite long black coat with a white stripe down the middle, and a golden music note pin in her hair.

On her back was her weapon; a customized, silver in color MK-28 viola-blade sound resonator that was completed with a viola-shaped shield and a bow-shaped sword. She hadn't found a name for it yet, but it had been with her since she was 13-years-old. Her long, feline tail was currently wrapped around it a bit just so she knew it was safe.

She waited even longer. It seemed that the longer she waited, the more she worried. It was nearing his deadline, and if he never showed, she was frightened about what may have held him up. Last she checked, Vale's traffic was surprisingly low at night, so that couldn't be the case. Whatever the reason, the clock kept counting down.

"C'mon, dad, where are you?" she worryingly asked "You better damn-well make an entrance like how you always did back in the White Fang base. Always trying to show off to mom... Please be just late... Please be just late... Oh god, please, just be late..."

Eight-thirty.

Oreonna looked at the clock with a heavy heart. There was something terribly wrong going on, and she was sure to figure out what. With a deep sigh, she ran out of the train station and back into the parking lot. Quickly flipping onto her black motorcycle, she started up its engine and drove all the way back into Vale. She probably broke about fifty speed limits, but right now that was the last of her worries right now.

She made her way directly for her father's bookstore: Tukson's Book Trade. Her eyes widened in surprise as she saw all the flashing red and blue lights about the block. She stopped her bike just to take in the scene, turning off the engine and leaving it in the middle of the street. After a moment, she jumped off and ran for the bookstore, pushing past any paramedics who got in her way. Tears had begun to form in her eyes as she finally saw what everyone had been paying attention to.

Currently being loaded into the ambulance was the body of her father. Somehow, while she was waiting for him, he had passed away. She screamed, forcing the officers on the scene to push her further away from everything. She couldn't stop herself from crying, but who could blame her?

Her father, the one who had taught her everything she knew and grew the most attached to, had just died.

"NOOOO!" she shouted, reaching out and trying her best to reach her father's body.

"Miss, please, you must calm yourself!" one of the officers warned "You will have a chance to meet with him again in the hospital, just please stop with your struggling!"

"N-No... Please, no, not you, dad..."

"Someone get him to the hospital as soon as possible! We may still be able to save him!" a paramedic in the background shouted hopefully. Meanwhile, the police officers were finally able to calm Oreonna down. She was currently knelling on the ground with her hands on her face trying to hide the fact she was crying.

"Miss, please, allow us to escort you to him," another officer offered "I know this is hard to wrap your head around, but we would like to know who that man was and what his relationship was with you. We would also like to know if he had any enemies that you may know of."

"Enemies?" Oreonna questioned "I... I..."

She was about to answer had it not been for the overbearing sadness she was currently filled with. The officers decided it was best to simply take her the hospital and ask any questions they had there. Slowly, they lifted her off of the ground and away from the scene of the crime.

There Oreonna sat on a green chair in a large, white room filled with various overhead lights and doors leading to different places amongst the hospital. The tears from earlier never fully went away, as she was still trying to get the last parts of her sadness out of her system. With her hands wrapped around each other on her lap and her weapon on the chair beside her, she patiently awaited whatever news came about. Suddenly, she heard a door open.

"Miss Oreonna?" a male doctor came in and got her attention "I'm sorry, there was nothing we could do. Your father, Tukson, was killed on the scene of the crime. Not even a speck of his aura was left that we could work with. I know this may be hard for you, but-"

"Just... Just shut-up..." Oreonna sighed.

"Of course, miss," the doctor nodded and walked away, giving her some space too recollect her thoughts.

"...I just can't believe he's gone..." Oreonna felt herself trembling again. She wanted to cry, but there were no tears left to shed. All she could do was look down at her hands and wonder what to do next, and where would she go from here. Would she even be able to live with herself now?

That is what she did, until something peculiar happened.

"Oreonna," a familiar male voice said to her. She looked up and darted her head around the room, but could find no literally no one. She convinced herself she was just hallucinating, until the voice returned once again.

"Oreonna, you know what you must do,"

"That... voice..." Oreonna finally recalled, now feeling extremely cross "You! Why are you here? What do you want? Show yourself!"

"I know who killed your father," the man admitted, causing Oreonna to gasp a bit "And I'm willing to bet that you know as well. Am I not right?"

"I..."

"Like I said before, you know what you must do," the man told her "But I wouldn't stay around here sucking your thumb for too much longer. They will be leaving shortly, and with them, your chance at revenge. Make your preparations and head south..."

His voice slowly faded away out of her mind.

And like that, Oreonna knew what she had to do. She reached into her coat pockets and pulled out two elbow-long white gloves which she put on her hands tightly. With her tail she picked up her weapon and placed it on her back, locking it into place. She was about to leave the building before noticing the door the doctor went through. Going through it, she saw none other than the body of her father. She wanted to turn away, but there was something she felt as if she needed to do first.

"Goodbye, dad," she rubbed his cheek with her hand "I promise that those bastards will get what they deserve. You can count on it."

She kissed him on the forehead before finally leaving to do her job.

Thankfully, the police force was kind enough to take her motorcycle with them. It wasn't hard to find it in the hospital's underground parking lot. Hopping onto it once again, she turned on the engine before revving up a bit and driving away as fast as she could. She sped up the ramp to the surface, making a small jump before eventually landing back on the road and continuing her drive. She went as fast as she could, never once slowing down for anything. There was only one thing on her mind right then and there.

Following the man's instructions, she drove down south to one of the old abandoned warehouses near the dock. At last she parked her motorcycle and got off, removing her weapon from her back and stepping closer and closer towards the building. Two White Fang guards noticed her and attempted to stop her.

"Hey you! Stop right there!" one of them shouted.

"Whoa, careful, dude!" the other stopped him after noticing who it was "That's Oreonna, isn't it? She's Tukson's daughter, so I think today would be a good day to run."

"You think?"

"I know."

"Can't argue with that!" the first guard nodded before attempting to run back into the warehouse.

Oreonna had other plans for them, however. She held her shield on her neck like a viola and began playing a rather nice, short tune with her bow. He bow then began to glow a red color which radiantly glowed with energy. She ran towards the two guards before swinging her bow-sword down and sending a wave of energy hurdling towards one of the White Fang members. It managed to split one in half, causing other one to cower in fear.

"Wh-What's your problem, you bitch?!" the remaining guard began to freak out "That was my brother! You're gonna pay for that!"

He ran up to her and attempted to kick her back. Without much effort, Oreonna put up her shield and, with its durable strings, bounced him back against the wall of the warehouse. He never even had a chance to get back up as she threw her bow at him and impaled his chest, instantly killing him. She pulled it out of the now lifeless guard before cutting down the door to the building and entering it, finally beginning her true mission.

Of course, there were some other White Fang members waiting inside the warehouse. They all stopped what they were doing and looked at Oreonna before dropping whatever items they had in their arms and going to attack her. With a quick strum of her viola-shield, she charged her weapon and engaged her enemy once again. She was easily able to slice any who opposed her in half with her powered-up blade. Some were unlucky enough to be bounced back by her shield, which she managed to put to good use as well.

Easily, she was able to completely annihilate most of the White Fang members either by slicing them in two or more pieces, or blowing them away with her shield with as much force as possible. However, more members soon took their place and readied themselves to attack Oreonna.

"Well then, time to make this a little more interesting..." she smiled before clicking down her sword's handle and opening up a gun barrel right through the sword. She pointed it at the engaging force in front of her before pulling the trigger and firing away. Each bullet was easily able to kill anyone who dared oppose her, and the quick reload speed certainly played a part in that. Any who got too close to her were first sliced down and shot in the head for good measure, probably just so Oreonna could show off.

At long last, every White Fang member in the warehouse had fallen to the extremely angry young faunus.

"...Oreonna?" spoke a voice very familiar to her, yet she couldn't quite place her finger on who it was. She turned around and, to her surprise, saw her mother, Neopolitan, with her normal work attire on and her eyes both white with shock. Both stepped back a bit when they saw each other.

"Mom, I..." Oreonna tried to explain "Dad, he's... He's dead."

Neo winced a bit from the news.

"The White Fang was responsible, and I'm here to eradicate them from this planet," Oreonna confidently, yet still somewhat shakily told her mother "What my dad got, he never deserved. After all he had ever done to protect the White Fang, death was his reward. Mom, please, you have to understand that I did this to-"

"I understand, alright..." Neo sighed, pulling out her umbrella and pointing it right at her daughter "I understand that you need to be stopped. Do you think killing the White Fang would make your father come back?!"

"Mom, I-"

"I don't want to hurt you, Oreonna," Neo looked down for a brief moment before focusing her attention on her daughter, changing one of her eyes to brown "but if you keep this up, I will have no choice but to put you down."

"Then I guess we're enemies, mother," Oreonna raised her sword toward her.

Neo unsheathed the blade hidden in her umbrella and did the same. The two were at a stand-still in time, unmoving for what seemed like an eternity. After a tense minute or so of just staring each other down, both of them attacked each other with full force, clashing swords and sending a reverberating noise throughout the entire empty warehouse. The two finally clashed again, and again, every time harder than the last.

Neo was finally able to overpower her daughter, however.

That one final push was the strongest Neo had ever felt, but it in no way felt good. Before she had a chance to think, Oreonna jumped back up and clashed with her mother once again, this time at a much faster pace. She jumped onto the wall before bringing her bow down onto her mother, which Neo was able to dodge. She used this time to once again knock her daughter away, refusing to even think about hurting her. This knockback however left a small chip off Oreonna's black cat ear.

"Remember who trained you, Oreonna!" Neo shouted "Please, just stop this! I don't want this anymore than you do, so please, I beg of you to stop!"

Oreonna didn't listen, however. With another beautiful tune, she charged her bow and attempted to attack her mother once again. Neo, having a hand in designing her daughter's weapon, knew exactly what it was capable of. She cowered in fear of the weapon, causing Oreonna to stop. She dropped her sword and grabbed her face.

"What... What am I doing?" she asked herself.

"Oreonna, sweetie, it's okay," Neo gave her a gentle and motherly smile "You father may be gone, but I still have you, okay?"

"M-Mom, I... I'm so sorry..."

It was then at that moment when both mother and daughter smelled something peculiar. It smelled like burning. They quickly darted around the area to see what everything was about, but it was too late. They looked up to barely see a burning piece of debris come down upon them, spreading a fire throughout the entire warehouse. Oreonna, having been knocked down from the debris, quickly got back up and noticed, much to her horror, that her mother was trapped under some rubble. She desperately tried to get her out of there, but no matter how hard she tried, she simply couldn't do anything.

"O-Oreonna?" Neo wondered "Please, leave me..."

"M-Mom?" Oreonna began to cry "N-No! I won't lose both my parents in one day! Please you have to get outta here! We can live our life alone away from-"

"Oreonna, go," Neo gave her daughter one final teary-eyed smile.

Oreonna gulped and nodded, getting up and turning to run from the scene. She looked back quickly to see her mother one final time before getting overcome by sadness and running away from the warehouse. An explosion went off behind her, knocking her to the ground and knocking her out.

The last thing she heard was the sound of the ambulances coming closer and closer to the burning warehouse.

"It is done," a man said from afar "Though, she failed the test."

"Good," a sly woman smirked next to him "Then we will simply have to wait until she wakes up. She's important to our plans, so be sure to keep an... extra close eye on her."

"Of course, Cinder."

Oreonna gasped as she woke up, sitting up on a surprisingly comfy bed. She darted her eyes around the room, checking where exactly she was. It was a hospital room not unlike the one she saw her father in. It was certainly a bit cozier than that, but the mood and tone were nearly the same. She found herself wearing a blue hospital dress with her normal clothes on her side neatly folded on a chair. On the other side was a familiar-looking viola shield and bow sword resting on a desk.

What gained the most attention for her was the older man sitting neatly on a chair sipping some coffee in a white mug. He wore mainly dark green for his pants, vest, shirt and scarf around his neck, but he had short white hair and small, circular glasses resting on his nose.

"Ah, you're awake," he said calmly.

"Where... am I?" Oreonna asked the man.

"In a hospital. Where else?" the man took another sip of his tea "Actually, the more appropriate question would be 'When am I?'. You've been in quite the coma for the past three months, so I'm glad you were able to recover so quickly, miss Oreonna."

"How do you know my name?"

"It says it right here on your medical file," the man pointed to the piece of white paper attached to the front of her bed "But now, I think we should get to business, should we not? I understand you just woke up, but I'm a man who simply likes to get to the point. You know what your next question will be, hmm?"

"Who... Who are you?" Oreonna finally asked, causing the man to nod a bit.

"My name is professor Ozpin," the man finally introduced himself "After hearing about your display of bravery, or perhaps stupidity, dealing with those rogue members of White Fang, I have come to the conclusion that you have much potential that lies within you. If you'll allow us to train you, you could become a powerful huntress."

"I'm sorry?" Oreonna became even more confused.

"Miss Oreonna," Ozpin stood up and extended his hand "I would like you to join my Beacon Academy so we can hone your skills and teach you things you might never even have known about. Are you interested?"
