Every Page a Painting - Walls of Words

Yup, hello, it's me, back on my typesetting binge again, with another "Every Page a Painting" to show you. And boy oh boy, do I have a real treat for you this time around: one of my favorite novels on this site, one that hasn't been typeset before. . . well, until now, of course.

Every Page a Painting - By Any Other Name

First of March, it's clear to me
    There's something that's uncomforting. . .

Here I am again, about a fortnight after the first "Every Page a Painting", locked and loaded with a second one, whether you wanted it or not. Enjoy.

Every Page a Painting - Click, Clack, Neigh

I know, I know, it's quite bold of me to publish this on Valentine's Day of all days, but here it is all the same.

If you don't like the timing, just come back tomorrow. I'll wait.

If you're still here and you don't care about when you'd get this, all I can say is buckle up.

(Disclaimer: everything you see here is work in progress and subject to change.)

Ah yes, my hundredth blogpost on Fimfiction.

I know I should try to find one single topic to spend it on, but I've got several going through my head and only one milestone to do it in, so. . . what the hell, I'll just talk about all of them.

Buckle up; this is a certified Anthology Blogpost.™

A Green Text Story that I Wrote · 4:28am Dec 23rd, 2015

>be me
>middle school (about 6 years ago)
>we were good students back then
>a few of us decide to clean the classroom as a surprise for our teacher
>I volunteer as lookout; didn't do any actual cleaning
>oh well
>keep my watch from behind an oak tree in front of the classroom (the campus was open-air)
>making sure the teacher's distracted by yard duty
>get idea
>dip back inside
>tell the others to send someone out to further distract the teacher
>shit goes down on the field
>teacher runs out to investigate
>I tell them "Never mind!"
>resume watch
>several minutes pass
>probably had the easiest job of the bunch
>bell rings
>recess over
>I walk in
>classroom is spotless
>sit at my desk
>face door
>teacher's face is gonna be priceless
>easy A for us
>a few students walk in behind me
>thisisthefinalcountdown.mkv
>teacher walks in
>my heart skips a beat
>she's disappointed
>principal walks in too, pretty angry with us
>pray tell, why?
>teacher takes seat at neatly-organized desk
>principal faces the class
>It turns out that a few hooligans in our class stirred up a wasps' nest, and a couple of people got stung.
>everyone in class is punished
>including those who were cleaning
>including me
>teacher never commented on the cleanliness of the classroom

If that day had taught me one thing, it was that people can be punished for doing the right thing.

Good night, and good luck.

I actually experienced similar things going through primary school, secondary school, college, and university. Except that I was typically the victim of favoritism. As in, the teachers would choose their favorites, and I was never it. I experienced a varying forms of harassment by teachers all through school. One example was university when a teacher accused me of plagiarism and tried to get me kicked out of my English major program. Well, at the end of the day, it was shown that I did nothing wrong. But the teacher made it very hard for me by spreading rumors about me, and I was harassed by most professors I had until I graduated. So I too did the right thing; I stood up for myself. But the education system, doesn't always care about that. Some educators care about being right and abusing their positions of authority. Long story short, I have sympathy for people who had to go through the same type of hing. It is never fun to be blamed for what someone else has done. But I've seen this a lot on the education system.

Very true.

But in this situation, there was also favoritism, and I was one of the favorites (along with three other students, whose names I shall not disclose), since I don't cause any drama on-campus. The point is that it doesn't matter who's the favorite and who isn't; it only takes one screwball to ruin it for everyone else.

I have a similar story, one that occurred just the other week. Mind if I share?

3638360 Sure, go ahead. I'd love to hear it.

In the traditional green text format:

>be me
>high school senior
>close to the end of the first semester
>ohfucknotfinals.jpg
>in government class (4th period)
>all students in social studies classes must pass an exit exam to pass the class
>government included
>teacher is out for the day to grade previous day's exit exams
>we get a sub
>class is like "Fuck yeah!"
>most were on their phones even though that's against school rules
>many were chatting to each other
>teacher expected us to be working hard to pass our own class legislation (it worked similarly to U.S. Congress)
>I was the only one who actually wrote any legislation
>started passing it around for signatures
>you need 20 to get it on the floor
>get 18 before the bell rings
>tomorrowisanotherday.png
>fast forward to next day
>teacher's back
>he's disappointed in us
>sub left a note explaining yesterday's events to him
>all the classes were nice and orderly, and got things done, blah blah blah
>EXCEPT fourth period
>martial law is imposed
>all our legislation no longer applies to us
>we can't pass any more bills
>I did the right thing and it didn't matter
>teacher didn't believe me when I told him about what I did
>I fucking hate the Class of 2016 now

This situation, in contrast to the earlier one, involved a classroom of screwballs instead of a select few.

3638405 Wow, that sounds like a frustrating situation. I myself was part of a few classes where all of the students were unruly and I was only one of like two students who actually did their work. :/ So I know the feeling.

Ah, no good deed goes unpunished.
