What I love · 9:23pm Dec 22nd, 2015
Many people ask why I love MLP, I sigh and say that it is something that can't be explained using words, but here's the best I've got:
MLP is something that brings every type of recluse and extrovert together, and conveys messages like the shows we all watched as kid, or our parents saw in their past, like Transformers, GI Joe, and Captain Planet. The cast of characters are so wide in their reach, that we can identify with them easily.
The workaholic, southern guy or gal that honors family before money, and will tell you the honest truth, even if it isn't nice.
The loyal athlete that you can trust to say the wrong thing, at the wrong time, and get you to shout at the top of your lungs in happiness. Someone who will watch your back, no matter what.
The shy, introvert who enjoys silence and the company of animals, someone who is so afraid of offending everyone, they put others ahead of their needs.
The genius with a shell of ancient texts, someone who'd prefer to cram for days and nights on end, that you can't help drtagging out to see the sun or the stars, someone consumed by a need to understand.
The fashionable, popular one who will give you the shirt off their back and will always give you a shoulder to cry on, or to listen to you rant without judging you. The one who will always compromise and stop fights with words.
The energetic clown who is always trying to make everyone they meet smile, someone you can't help but remember, someone who is always prepared for the most crazy of things, someone who will break the silence with a joke or a prank.
Every character is a person we'd meet in life, and hope to call friend.
We see and learn the messages, sing the songs, and imagine how life could be, and what we can do.
Ponies aren't for little girls, they are for the disenchanted, the ones who doubt themselves, give the people without hop[e something to look forward to, to instill a sense of community, even if we are all just inside our little houses, watching cartoons, we know that we are together, we are united, we are the hopeful.
We are the Herd.
And that's what it means to me, and this is one of the most important:
And I consider everyone on this blessed site my friends, whether or not you feel the same, I don't care, you are my friends, and that's all there is to it.
