The Like-Dislike/ Up-downvote system is a very good way to rate a story in my opinion. What I don't like about it, is that it doesn't give you any indication of what was the reason for a rating, for example if it's a well liked fic what is it that's good about it and if it's downvoted, then what's the reason for that.
I personally hardly ever downvote a fic, I much rather simply dump it without reading it through, but if I feel that it has something that makes me hate it, I comment, THEN downrate.
If it's not too much of a hassle, I'd like to ask my readers, that if they really want to downrate, do it but at least give a reason (a single line comment is quite enough to do it), so that I can avoid getting downvotes later for the same reason, if it's a thing I can change or get better at later on.
And now for some passive agression...if you don't like it, why in the holy**** are you reading it at all!?
Thank you for your continued support!
See, I don't like how the rating system works.
The way it works, downvotes are almost meaningless. In regards to the rankings, upvotes "mean" more, so it's easier to climb the rankings than it is to fall.
