Shine

Hello there. I was born on a Saturday, I guess I was meant for weekly episode shows. Darkness is just an absense of light, so sometimes you just need someone to call you over to the sunny patch

    Still Alive

For whatever reason, when I woke up this morning, I felt a bout of nostalgia hit me. I looked at the window at the snow patched ground, at my computer, and honestly it took me a bit to figure out what for.
It was for this place, for the fandom and the show.

    Long Trek Down Memory Lane

Hey guys, yes, I am still alive! And still no plans on leaving Fim if any of you are concerned. And still working on those stories. I know it's been years, but I'm still not giving up.

    An artist recommendation~

This artist right here has an awesome hand when it comes to chibis and anime styled art! And they are freaking adorable! Not to mention I've got a few pieces of art from her.
So we'd both appreciate it if you'd check out her page!

About my writing... · 8:21am Dec 20th, 2015

I know most of my blogs haven't been about Fim or ponies or writing... heh.
Have some reasons as to why I haven't posted any stories.
Well, when I first got onto Fim, I was too shy to even favorite something, or comments, so how would someone who was that shy even considering posting a story online? See?
Even after that, I compared my writing to some stories I really liked, but my writing then was bad. I cringe sometimes when I look at it. Luckily now my writing is decent, I think.
One of my biggest problems, I think, is writing the characters always in character, which is why I study a book, or a few chapters, or a few episodes or a movie if I'm really in the mood to write a fanfic about it, usually. Oh, and I don't have very tough skin, so, another reason why I'm not posting stories yet.
A thing that annoys me sometimes is when an author gives up on a story completely because of a lack of inspiration. I had a fanfic, no not a pony one, that I was discussing the plot with a friend. Then when a decision came in that would change a bit, I was thrown off my game. I left the story to collect dust for months, then finally, I got back to it, edited a little bit, and finished it.
This leads up to what's probably consider the main point of not posting a story yet. I know that author's sometimes need to take a month or much longer to write a single chapter. I get why, but I know how it is also when you really want another chapter. I am not telling anyone here to get up and hurry up with their story, especially because I know how hard it can be for inspiration and time and because we often feel bad when we can't update when we planned or soon.
I want to write a complete story before I post it. Therefore people don't have to wait as long. Yes, you can probably thing of plenty of reasons why I should just post one of the stories already, but still.
And finally is because I want people to enjoy my writing, not cringe at it.
I write because I enjoy it, I write for fun. But I don't need to get my work out there to enjoy it, I'm not aiming to be a semi-famous author or anything.
If I want to show a story, I go to a few friends, and they can give me tips on how to make it better or something, and they're not rough or blunt usually on the story. If I consider posting it, I get a proofreader/editor to tell me bluntly.
I wait to make it decent enough that I feel I can ignore any of the mean comments I'll get on the story and that most people who read it will at least somewhat enjoy some part of it.
i write because I enjoy it, I will post it because I want people to also enjoy my work and maybe even help me become a better writer.

That's understandable :scootangel:

If you ever need proofreading or ideas (or similar things like that) go ahead and ask me, I'll be more than willing! I'll also tell you that when you get an idea, build on it as much as possible before you write it, because if you write it beforehand, your mind will go blank on what to write in the next scene. Also, whatever you choose make sure you'll be willing to stick with it until it's finished...I had an experience like that that didn't end well...:twilightsheepish:

Good story's take time...
Just breathe, and take your time.:scootangel:

And nope:twilightsmile: all of my stories, I never plan out in detail, I get most of the basic plot, then write from hand. jus about all of my stories, complete and incomplete, were written like that. And it doesn't go blank.
Just because you have one bad experience something doesn't necessarily mean it's bad.
Most of my stories aren't usually planned in detail beforehand, and I've wrote for hours on end before, just on a basic idea. It turned out pretty good.
