Flooding sux · 12:26am Dec 20th, 2015
So we were getting ready to decorate for Christmas when my husband noticed a cascade of water coming from the ceiling of our laundry room. Joy, so we gathered all the clothes and stuff and took them to our room where I noticed water dripping from our light fixture. Double joy.
Turns out that the kids upstairs (two boys early 20s) had been doing a small load of laundry when their washer malfunctioned flooding their apartment and ours.
So yes we are cleaning up water and its so much fun. In pony news I'm working on that chapter of Mother as well as a new Twilestia story called It Must Be Tuesday.
Required adorable pony picture.
That sucks. I'm sorry.
On the bright side
you can go swimming upstairs don't waste the opportunity!
Sorry to hear about the flood but at least the roof is still there, I hope! Anyway, I will wish you a Merry Christmas and hope you have a good wet vacuum. And be glad its clean water and not the 'other' kind....Ugh! Good luck!!
That sucks a lot. I hope the damage does not end up being too great.
I mean it when I say "It could be worse."
In college, I shared a basement apartment with a guy whose sister owned the house. Every time the upstairs toilet flushed, the downstairs toilet would "Blubbulp!" much like a bidet. It was not fun. Bidets use clean water.
Anyway, landlady calls a plummer, plummer takes the king-nut off the sewer line (which is in our bedroom) to inspect the pipe (ok so far), goes out to the truck to get a roter-rooter. One minute later, the city decides to backflush the block's sewage lines with high-pressure air to knock a clog out of a line somewhere. Four inches of sewage across our bedroom floor later... (and we got to help clean it up, because it's my roommate's sister's house, and therefore I had a moral obligation) I'm just glad you have to deal with clean water, even if it is winter.
