As I saw in some comments, some people would like to see Aether in episodes like the Hearth's Warming Eve one. However, at this point in the story it is more filler than story. So in this case, would people want to see filler bits in Astral Aegis, or just keep it plot focused. However, if not included into the story, I probably will instead make a side story that would cover those events, but no promises.

Let there filler!
I'm not really a filler type person. It's good every once in a while if it has character development, but I prefer plot progression if it doesn't.

It'd be interesting to see the Hearth's warming event, but perhaps make it more of a side thing. Not necessarily have to be something done at the moment.

I wouldn't say no to a few "one shot" chapters with Aether... They could be collected under a separate story title and there would be no need to keep them chronological.
Its always good to add in filler chapters, the hard part of that though is when people start making the whole story filler, but at the same time you don't want a story which is just forcing scene after scene so there needs to be a balance of a few chapters here and there with some filler, and in the event you don't want filler in your story you can just make multiple one-shots on the side for in case people want to read them

Well, you know what I mean. I've commented on that in the main story, but it's simply that a lot of things that have happened so far, even if they aren't technically filler, don't feel particularly relevant or like they're actually leading somewhere, plot-wise. Right now, I think you really need to actually progress the story again for a bit before you start going off on tangents.
3613198 Ah, I see. What you may think is filler may actually be plot threads that will eventually be tied up into a neat little bow, but not all will be tied together at the same time. Distorted Fate had a more concise plot, with things coming to a single end for the most part. Astral Aegis, however, is more setting up the stage for many important events. So it's more of a transition for the things to come. Besides, the chapters that some may feel are a bit filler-ish belong in this story since it is a slice-of-life instead of adventure. I'm just wondering if folk want the real filler stuff that I can't use to advance the plot in any real amount.

I understand that and on the whole the more slowly progressing plot doesn't bother me, but you have to keep in mind how it looks to the reader. In retrospect, I'm sure it will be obvious how all of this contributed to the larger plot, but right now, while you're reading it, it's hard to see where you're going with any of that. Can you see where I'm coming from, there? If you were to ask me personally, right this moment, I would recommend writing those filler chapters, but keeping them in reserve until a later point, maybe for when you need some time off or something like that. I don't think actually going off on an aside like that again is the best thing you could do for the story right now.
