    Holy crap you guys.

Okay, okay, I know the next chapter of My Choices is taking FOREVER. And I'm sorry. It's been hard to get motivated. BUT! My good friend Nutjob decided to motivate me by purchasing an awesome commission from some guy named Bitz. Check this out!

    My Little Avengers fans, rejoice!

Remember My Little Avengers? That cute, fast-paced romp that updated like once a week at least, as opposed to my current glacial pace? Remember how you all wanted a sequel ASAP, and I was like "Nah, Imma work on My Choices instead"? Well, a proper sequel is still a ways off buuuut we have the next best thing - a side story!

    Bad news...

Welp, folks, it's finally happened. Summer is ending, and starting tomorrow it's back to school with me. I've got a heavy course load this semester, plus with school back in session I'll be able to meet with my RPing group again, which means I'll be spending a good chunk of time DMing. On top of all this, I've recently come down with a nasty and very stubborn cold, so I haven't really had the

Status Updates (From Canada!) · 8:52pm Aug 15th, 2012

Howdy folks! This is Kooler, coming to you live from the land of the maple leaf! I managed to snag some internet access, so I figured I'd keep you guys appraised of my progress, story-wise.

The good news! I did get a lot of writing done on the ride up, as anticipated, and I've done some writing in my hotel room when I should have been sleeping (I do my best work when tired, oddly enough). I've already surpassed my 3500 word minimum, which means the chapter is long enough for publishing. Now that I've reached that point, I just have to wrap up all the story points I had earmarked for this chapter and we're good. Also, Niagara Falls is pretty cool; got a great view from my hotel room. Did the Maid of the Mist, too, which was pretty awesome. This has nothing to do with the story, but it's cool so I brought it up.

The bad news. While word-count-wise, the chapter is done, story-wise it's only about halfway there. I'm hoping to have it done by the time I'm back in the states (a few days from now), but no promises. Also, Canadian resturants can NOT cook a proper burger, which is very depressing when you love burgers like I do. And the lemonade is crap. And I've yet to try poutine or take advantage of the lowered drinking age (though these things should be rectified by tonight). Again, this has nothing to do with the story, but this is the only blog I have and I'm obviously SO amazing that you're all eager to hear about my Canadian adventures.

Also, in other news, just got a book, Warbreaker, by the world's greatest author Brandon Sanderson, and holy Celestia do I wish I'd read it before starting My Choices. The devision between nobility and servants is done splendidly, as is the excesses of the nobility, and it would have been excellent inspiration. Sadly, it's a bit too late now. Ah well.

I do believe it's almost time for drinks and poutine. I'm off!

Yeah poutine!!!

And Brandon Sanderson, you have an odd way of spelling Harry Turtledove.

(I do my best work when tired, oddly enough)

Same here!

Glad to hear it. I've been to Niagra twice, myself. Most recently was... meh. Despite not being able to remember the first trip at all (I was like 4 at the time, second I was 17) I was bored out of my skull. The highlight for me was Hard Rock Cafe... and that's just because something memorable happened. I got one of their chocolate shakes and... well, let's just say that not vomiting from the taste was worth 900000000000000000 Gamerscore on XboX Live. How the fuck do you fuck up chocolate?!

Oh boy, looks like the next chapter's gonna be a long one!

Warbreaker

:pinkiegasp:?

by the world's greatest author Brandon Sanderson

:pinkiehappy: !

You sir, have good taste. I have to say I enjoyed Warbreaker even though the notions of divinity seemed a little bit confused? (What does being a god actually mean? And what does it actually mean in character?)

For me, Vivenna was definatly the best pony... er... human. Any opinions?

You both misspelled Douglas Preston.

289487 While I believe you meant GRRM, let's get back to the important stuff, which is that we'll propably getting a looong chapter.*cue squeeing*
Also, the new chapter will be from Blue's POV, right? Oh boy, that'd be great.

Holy shit!

They have the Internet in Canada?? :pinkiegasp:

But seriously, you spelled Brandon Sanderson exactly right. And oh how right you are.

289623 of course they have the internet in canada. they also have it in india

Well I bet American poutine is crap :derpytongue2: lol

Well, if the lemonade sucks there's always Beer and/or Coca-Cola.

Sounds like a good time. :pinkiehappy: can't wait to see what you've gone through.

Wooo mass responce time!

Harry Turtledove? The alt-history writer? He's not bad, but Brandon Sanderson has more talent in his pinky toe then ten of any mortal authors have in their whole body. Him and Terry Pratchet cooperating on a book would pretty much end the universe due to being utterly perfect.

289411
Vivenna's not bad, although Siri is clearly the awesomer sister. HOWEVER, the best character is clearly Lightsong. No contest.

289487
I don't even know who that is.

289623
Apparently, yes. And yeah, Brandon Sanderson is pretty amazing.

289667
*wrinkles nose* I cannot STAND coco-cola. Really. It's awful. Pepsi too. Haven't tried beer yet, though.

290941
Go read The Cabinet of Curiosities. Easily one of the best books I have ever read.

290941

Well Terry Pratchet is one my all time favorite authors. If only there was a universe where he and Douglas Adams could have collaborated on a book, but alas one is dead and the other has early onset Alzheimers.

290941

Bah. I still say Vivenna is best princess. She's like, made of character growth. She screws up, she suffers, she struggles to make things right again she changes for the better. What more could you want? I was mostly neutralish-positive about Lightsong until close to the end, when he becomes amazing. He did give me flashbacks to various Discworld books though.

290968
Why must you depress me so?

291896
Well, yeah, she's a great character. But Lightsong is FUN. I love his sense of humor. His little performance at the end was seven kinds of brilliant, of course, but his humor is what made him fun for me. And he's not exactly hurting for character development either, though its a weird sort of development and occurs largely near the end.
