(Hie) Human in Equestra, regarding the wish fulfillment cliche.
I'll be frank, I don't care about wish fulfillment as long as the grammar is fairly good. I know it's a cheesy story with tender romance between human and a MLP FIM pony that with lots of overly tender intimacy. But it warms my heart, despite being fiction.
I've read the same story a thousand times before, but it still gives me the warm fuzzies. There's something about a human loving another sapient species, that doesn't even look really all that human, yet the story fills my heart with joy. I know, I've read the same story so many times over, but I just love it.
After dealing with all the bulltshit of a day, it makes me happy to read a sweet romantic story about a human over coming his feelings of a MLP FIM pony. Because it's heartwarming, nice and adds a little sunshine to my life. I'm well aware there are other people with far worse lives than mine, but nonetheless I love these stories.
Despite the classic HIE, despite being overly done so many time before. I just love it, the hugs, the kisses and everything between and beyond, it makes me less depressed and happy. I'm probably one hell of a freak for liking something that's not even human, but I don't care. If I had not known MLP FIM romantic HIE I would probably be even more depressed today.

I love those stories too for the same reasons but I do have a grudge with the ones that have pussy-whipped characters.
Your a freak? I would get down with a female xenomorph if no face-tearing, face-hugging or general "dies of acid in horrible pain" is involved. Accepting that which is "alien" just means your accepting of others and less likely to have a spazz attack if an alien popped up and said "hello."
