Sometimes you just can't write. Or you can but life distracts you. I apologize for not having a new story up and ready to go. I'm still working on "Antonovka". With any luck, it'll be posted at the weekend, but I've learned not to make promises since they're difficult to keep.
In the days that I've been away, I noticed that Highs And Lows now has almost has many total votes as Sunset Shimmer Buys A Burrito. However, it has over twice as many dislikes. I'll be the first to admit that H&L is not as good a story (given that its "editing" consisted literally of adding one word and updating the chapter title accordingly), but still. More often than not, the first vote on any of my stories is usually a dislike. It makes me think I'm being stalked by a downvote fairy. Since I so rarely get feedback – save from a couple cool people; you know who you are – it's as plausible an explanation as any.
In the real world, I've been rewatching Urusei Yatsura. Partly because I love that anime, and partly because I really really want to figure out how I'm going to cross it over with MLP. Do I want to limit the invasion to Ataru, Lum, and Shinobu? Or should I bring in Mendou too? What races should they be? Lum can zap, but she can also fly. I think it would be funny if the tables were turned and Ataru could fly but she couldn't. Shinobu has to be an Earth-pony because she's strong enough to put the Apple Clan to shame. Which ponies will Ataru proposition? Should I base their characterizations off the 1998 UK gag dub? Decisions, decisions.
Also, I went to go see the Krampus movie yesterday. It was better than I expected (I expected it to suck).
PS – I was feeling really down last night, and it made me think that maybe my next project after finishing "Antonovka" should be "Lows And Highs". I don't know if anyone wants to read about Sunset Shimmer being so depressed she can't leave her room for days, but lord knows I could write it. Peace out.
