...you didn't know that you fell~

Adagio looked away from the television as the Christmas-themed commercial ended. "This...Santa fellow...what's in it for him to bring joy and laughter to everyone? Is that what he feeds off of?"

"What? No," the young man who was stuck taking care of the skeptical Siren replied. "He does it because it's just what he does. All the good boys and girls get presents from him, and all the bad kids get a visit from Kra-...uh, they get coal, instead." He quickly managed to correct himself, definitely wary of feeding the surprisingly receptive Adagio anything more that could cause misunderstandings. His intuition was already telling him that she was plotting something from how she expressed her interest in Santa. Once upon a time he thought he grew out of things like Santa and other dimensions, but the past few months shook the foundations of what he thought was real or not. "Anything else you wanna know before I pick Sonata and Aria from the mall?"

"No, that will be all," she answered and waved him off. Adagio pondered over this revelation as she half-attentively watched her host continue cooking a number of things in the kitchen. Aria and Sonata were already gone by the time she woke up that morning, to some sort of part-time job at the mall. While she felt much better since her fever, Adagio decided to stay in her pajamas and lounge on the couch in front of the T.V. while being pampered one more day. Being that today was the twenty fourth, she recognized that she'd have to retain as much energy as possible for her plan. "Hmm..."

That night...

"...you're Santa? I knew there was something strange about you. No one would be so kind to take in three random girls without a hidden objective!"

He took off his fake beard before addressing her accusation. "No, I was so kind to take in Sonata," he said to correct her. "You imposed yourself into my house. Besides, your plan this whole time was to seduce an old bearded man for gifts?" He asked incredulously.

She looked him up and down without saying anything at first, then gave a predatory smirk. "Yes. That was the plan. But this works out much better to my advantage~"

"Ugh..." he shuddered in reaction at the thought. It wasn't that he was repulsed by such a scenario; being propositioned by a beautiful girl. It was just, this scene involved Adagio of all people. The last few months gave him enough of an idea of how manipulative, self centered and megalomaniacal Adagio was. Which was precisely why he knew no one else would bother to tolerate her under their roof. Of course, Sonata's pleading was the primary reason why the girl before him wasn't out on the street already.

"What, you don't like what you see?" She asked in a teasing whisper, her eyes half lidded.

"Not one bit!" Sonata yelled out from the stairs, still in her pajamas. She slid the rest of the way down on the banister, expertly landing to strike a pose that included pointing an accusing finger. "Stop trying to hog the presents, Dagi!"

"That's what you're upset about?" he couldn't help but sigh as he felt Adagio's arms remain on his shoulders.
