I did it. Finally—finally—this story has been submitted to the moderators here. As I think I’ve mentioned before, I’ve worked on this story for the better part of a year now. In fact, I think I actually remember getting the inspiration around this time last year. However, things soon got all jumbled up with editing Pink Eyes and I just kinda forgot about it. Afterwards, I got to reading a story known as The Last Pony on Earth, which indirectly got me back into writing.
Basically, I read a side-story to it that was pretty meh. I thought to myself, “Man, I could do better than this…” and that’s when I wrote about a thousand or two words in one night for a new side-story for that universe, but, in the end, it was pretty crap. I do have a new idea for that universe, but that’ll be done in the future (if it’s ever done…) and is not relevant now. Anyway, I was going through some of my older stuff and looked at what I had originally written for my Hotel California story because nostalgia (I guess). As it turned out, I thought it was a lot better than I originally thought it was, and that led me to complete the first chapter, get cover art, and get some editors for it.
Finishing the first chapter was easy enough and the editing for it wasn’t too bad, either. My main setback was trying to get it onto EQD, but I really don’t care about that anymore. Yeah, EQD would be nice, but I’ve been (trying) to hype up this story too much without actually posting any content. Therefore, I have decided that I’d post it.
But, before I was able to post it, I got sudden inspiration to write a prologue for it. Why? Because I had finally came up with the main reason of why the Hotel exists, which will be made clear later. So I wrote a pretty small prologue in one night and got my editors on it.
Finally, it’s here, though, and I’m extremely happy. Believe me, with the amount of work I’ve put into this story, I’m extremely excited to finally be able to get it out to everyone and see how it does. So far, my editors have given me positive reviews on it, but not everyone has the same taste as they do. I’m nervous about this, but also excited… I’m nervouscited! Anyway, I do hope that you guys will enjoy this story. The second chapter has already been started, but there’s not much in it so far. I’ll be posting blogs on when the chapters have been sent off to my editors, so you’ll guys be able to know when to expect it. Again, I thank you for all of your support and for even just reading this blog post. I hope to see my story on FimFiction within the next few hours!
