RLYoshi

I primarily make YouTube videos, but I like to write too. This is where my pony writing goes. Typically adventure or dark, lots of OCs, consistent updates not guaranteed, batteries not included.

    Do people care?

I'm starting to wonder if people even really care about the story I'm writing right now, Equinox Mission Logs. There've been no comments or feedback, and very few follows or even views (compared to my other stuff, anyway; twenty consistent people reading per chapter is still a decent amount from a neutral standpoint).

    I couldn't wait any longer.

I got too impatient waiting for September 1st. :derpytongue2:

New story goes up as soon as the publish queue gets to it, so in less than an hour.

    Long time no see

So, uh, you're still following me, huh? I'm a bit surprised, gonna be honest. I mean, my last update was... December, I think? And that was just asking what's up with the new genre tags. Last update before then was September. Been almost a year.

    So many new genre tags!

The last time I set up a story, we had... like, ten genres. Romance, Adventure, Slice of Life, Dark, Comedy, Random (you also basically needed the first if you had the second), Sad, Tragedy (once again, need the first if you have the second), Crossover, and Alternate Universe. And then Human was added a bit later before I kind of vanished.

So many new genre tags! · 11:39am Dec 7th, 2015

I come back here to start setting up my next new story (one of the three I promised you guys a while back), and they've repopulated like rabbits. And since the FAQ hasn't been updated, I have no clue the intention of what these mean, especially since I have many different definitions of them in my head. (Does "Thriller" mean "action-packed", or is it an alternative to Dark that means "scary without the gratuitous violence"?)

I don't want to mess this up, so... if you guys have any clue what the following genres are supposed to refer to, please tell me?

Drama
Thriller
Horror (I specifically want to know how it differs from Dark)
Also, what's the difference between Human and Equestria Girls?

Even if you only have the answer for one of these genres, that's plenty. Please and thank you in advance. :twilightsheepish:

Human tag is for a human in Equestria. the Equestria Girl tag is for storys that take place in the EQG universe and I think if the EQG are cannon to your story.. The other tags I have know idea. Hope that helps.

Drama is pretty much equivalent to tragedy where you will usually see more emotion and situational conflict stories such as any sitcom or show production. It can be like a lighter version of tragedy. The pony equivalent would be like going HAM on a situation such as Drama-Queen Rarity where the story would be like going Rarity on a situation if that analogy works.

Thriller think of it like any action movie, James Bond thing, Mission Impossible, detective case stories (especially noir), lawyer works (Phoenix Wright and usually any book made by John Grisham is good), and other things like that. In that case, you can say that inserting a thriller tag into a story would be where you'll want your audience to feel the same rush as your characters and turn it into a some-what more action oriented page turner. Sure, actual detective stuff is long and boring but if CSI can make it interesting then there you go :trollestia:

Klhan made a good inquiry into the other tags. If you have a Human then great it's Human. But if the story is primarily set in the EQG universe or references heavily to it then EQG. No need for a human tag UNLESS you happen to incorporate a human who then goes to the EQG universe or that canon part of Equestria where the portal exists, etc.

Human is, like, Human in Equestria, a pony on Earth, or just when everyone is a human for some reason. EG specifically refers to Equestria Girls and its version of the characters.

Horror is something specifically meant to scare you or give you chills, while Dark just more generally means 'everything's gone to shit'.
