Groups » Groups Post - December 2015 · 7:42pm Dec 4th, 2015
Alright, it's December. Now I can stop getting irrationally angry at the Santa Claus Coke cans that have already been in stores for weeks, and start getting rationally angry at how terrible everyone is at driving this time of year. Also there's a holiday coming up or something, Iunno.
Groups Posts are a monthly group advertisement blog open to anyone who wants a signal boost. If you're interested in having your group advertised in one of these, send me a PM with the name of the group, a link to its front page, and a brief description of what the group is for. I'll copy this directly into the post, so write it like you're trying to tell other people about why they should join or pay attention to your group - anything up to around 150-ish words is fine.
Though we've all heard of Zecora, how many of us truly think about the rest of the zebras? Our little group is fairly new and focuses around the beauty of these mysterious enquines. Here you can chat, theorize, and just show off your curiosity! Once we get a certain amount of following there might even be contests! Join the Zebras Of Equestria for even more horse shenanigans! (You can't have too much horse, right?)
Are you more interested in writing stories about OCs? Or maybe you want to put yours somewhere in your story? Then this is the group for you! Whether your story is about adventure, drama, action, or maybe a little fun in the bedroom, if you get my drift, they are all accepted! Whether your OCs are up front in the story or a bit off to the side, they are still accepted! So if you want a place to put your OC story, come check out Original Character stories!
Welcome to Sassy Saddles' personal library, a place where only the very best of Fics are accepted.
After her success working alongside Rarity at Canterlot Boutique, Sassy's feeling confident and is looking to undertake a new challenge... Starting her very own library! (The princesses all have them, so it must be the in thing!) However, she's learned her lesson about care and attention to detail and doesn't want to be part of a failed library, so only fics with very good positive feedback (thumbs!) or higher are accepted here. All genres are welcome!
So, come on in and submit your fics, recommend a friend's or join us and keep an eye out for the best of the best fics around; let's make Sassy Saddles' library a success!
First, each year around the holiday season, the entire Poniverse community rallies around one of our marquee events dedicated to providing a better Christmas to the young patients at BC Children's Hospital in Vancouver, Canada. The money raised will go toward their Christmas fund and an effort to ensure that each child will have a better holiday. For a family dealing with some of the medical conditions common in a pediatric hospital setting, a showing of generosity from a stranger can and does make a profound difference. It inspires hope and love. Hope that there is more than just struggling and concern about tomorrow. That is at the heart of this campaign. We aim to show, all of us together, that there are individuals out there that care. The charity drive runs through Deceomber 19. Second, tying into the MCM charity drive, Poniverse Fimfiction is hosting another Hearth's Warming Eve fanfiction contest, running through January 1. This year, all entries must not only be tied to or centered around Hearth's Warming Eve in some manner, but specifically must relate to the theme of CHARITY. We've got some great prizes lined up for the winners of this contest, so click here if you'd like to learn more about Poniverse's Hearth's Warming Eve Contest 2.0!
That's it for December. See you in 2016.
We have to wait a whole year for the next blog.
I knew there was something I liked about you.
And it's not irrational.
3592573 I should have taken note of the date when I first saw them. It was well before Thanksgiving. That's just not okay.

Agreed!
Hell, last year I actually saw some Christmas-themed commercials before Halloween. Worst of all, they were for that "Flex-Seal" stuff! "Here's some goop in a can that helps you patch leaks! Merry Christmas!"
3592573 Santa Claus was never red and white until Coca Cola ran a successful marketing campaign. Before that he wore robes of varying colours up until the early 20th century.

Actually, it's incorrect to say "Santa was never red or white". He was red or white in most depictions at the time. That's why Cola ran with him as their mascot.
The fact that Santa is a bastardisation of Saint Nick/Sinterklaas (among many other European winter gift-givers) who wears bright red and white is a bit of a clue
