Wish List for Season 6 · 6:02pm Dec 4th, 2015
Warning: Spoilers from The Cutie Re-Mark abound. Proceed with caution.
Holidays are coming up, and a lot of people are writing lists of what presents they want. Well, I've got a list of my own. And this one's for DHX regarding Season 6. I don't know if they'll ever read it or not, but hey, I'd at least like to get my thoughts out there. So, here's what I would like to see in Season 6:
1. Fleshed-Out Starlight Glimmer
If the end of the finale is any indication, Starlight Glimmer is probably going to join the main cast. I don't know what that entails, but if they decide to go this route, they need to work on that backstory. It's not bad by any means, but it feels incomplete. As it stands, Starlight Glimmer comes across as nothing but a child who doesn't know right from wrong. That's fine. It doesn't make me sympathize with her, but it at least gives her some semblance of a motivation. And while some people are criticizing this by saying "Oh, why didn't she just make another friend?" or "Was she really willing to form an entire cult over this one incident?" I have a very different question. Why doesn't she know right from wrong? Where were her parents? Heck, does she even have parents?
...
Actually, if she doesn't, that would explain quite a few things. And don't say they can't go that route. Rumors of Scootaloo being an orphan have been flying around for years. But unlike those rumors, I think Starlight Glimmer being an orphan could work. And that's just one way the writers can flesh out her character and make her a bit more likable.
2. Fluttershy's Family
Five seasons in, and we haven't seen hide nor hair of anyone in Fluttershy's family tree. There were rumors that her brother was going to show up in Season 5, but those didn't quite pan out.
3. Scootaloo's Family
No, that one pegasus playing hockey at the end of Tanks for the Memories doesn't count. Not without him having some form of actual interaction with his supposed daugh— er, niece. Or, whatever she's supposed to be to him.
4. The CMC using their special talents
I'm really glad that the Crusaders finally got their Cutie Marks, but at the same time, I'm a bit frustrated that they did jack diddly squat with those special talents for the rest of the season (well, unless you count Sweetie Belle singing with Coloratura). Keep in mind, their marks display both a CMC shield and three individual Coats of Arms. I'd love to see how they work as individuals and as a team.
5. Hippogriffs
No, I'm not going to shut up about this. Not until DHX delivers. We have a world where griffons and ponies live side-by-side. A hippogriff is the offsprings of a male griffon and a mare. Do the math, people!
6. Celestia episode
It might be a tall order, but it's certainly not impossible. Tia has been an integral part of the world's lore since Day One, yet she's gotten less and less screen time as the seasons progressed. I think it's about time we changed that.
7. Applejack/Fluttershy Mystery episode
C'mon, I can't be the only one seeing this pattern. Twilight and Pinkie teamed up for a mystery, and then Rarity and Rainbow Dash did the same. This is the next logical step.
8. Cadence and Shining Armor's baby
This isn't so much for Season 6 as it is for the series in general. The writers can take as much time as they need for this to pan out. As long as we see the child before the end of the show's run, I'll be satisfied.
9. Diamond Tiara
Much like the Crusaders getting their Cutie Marks, Di was kinda left in the lurch for the rest of Season 5. Honestly, I don't think her reformation will be that easy. Her special talent is getting people to do what she wants; that's a very easy power to abuse.
10. Better scheduling
Seriously, airing the Friendship Games movie in the middle of Season 5 was a bad move. Especially since they didn't bother to edit out the stinger at the end, which actually did spoil the plot for the season finale.
There are probably more, but those are the big ones I'd like to see. So, what about the rest of you?
Don't forget Rainbow Dash's family as well
3592248 I think we kinda saw them in Season 3, but having them actually have speaking roles wouldn't hurt.
Number ten is an absolute must. I wonder if that was simply a market test of sorts.
Zecora also fell by the wayside. Faust's original plan for her sounded spectacular, and easily could be integrated in. Heck, there could just plain be more beyond the one token
black characterzebra.I don't think we've seen much of the Mane Six handle genuine guilt. That'd make for an interesting episode, and would serve the target audience a valuable lesson about accountability.
>Celestia
>Tall Order
I see what you did there.
I kind of actually liked how the end of friendship games gave a hint of what was to come.
I would add Lightning Dust's redemption arc and Sunset Shimmer returning to Equestria, but that's just me.
I agree with all of these! As for what else I wanna see, I'd like to see the map call Spike somewhere. He's got a throne like the rest of them, so I'd like to think he's just as eligible to be called upon. Unless it's contingent upon having a cutie mark, which would be unfortunate. Beyond that I'd like to see more of all of the main cast's families, more to do with Zecora, and more of the pets (we seriously haven't seen Philomena since Season 1).
Might have to make my own little wishlist blog! A lot of ideas are suddenly coming to mind.
Sounds like she can easily threaten any of her opponents using the time spell she knows, as long as Twilight agrees (she knows the spell too). Maybe saving Equestria with some time lord drama, as common as they are these days
Long time no Daring Do. Hope she'll appear more often
If that happens, Silver Quill's gonna be extremely happy.
