I wrote a thing here so I would not appear as someone who is not interested in talking.

A quick story walkthrough and event synopsis of Asylum: chapter three:

This is a bit late so I’m going to try to take back up the slack but these take a lot of time and effort so we’ll see.

-The chapter opens right where the last left off, with Twilight starring at AJ while her mind is once again fogged by “The thick strands of discordant thought gumming up the works of her brain until it felt as though it had stalled.“

A quick story walkthrough and event synopsis of Asylum: chapter two:

So here it is, chapter two. Please enjoy.

-The chapter starts off with the symbolism of Twilight trying to walk up hill while being constantly cut by shards of “black snow” that suck away her strength after leaving self sealing cuts while Twilight struggles up toward a light that she has been previously.

A quick story walkthrough and event synopsis of Asylum: chapter one:

After the last chapter of Asylum came out I started to read it only to find I had forgotten a lot of what had come before and that I wasn’t getting the full experience so I decided I would read each chapter one by one and give a list of events followed by a synopsis/conclusion and maybe give my opinion at the bottom and now I am finally getting around to doing it so without further introduction:

Reread and thoughtful re-experience of Solitary Locust chapter two, Fugitive

This chapter is one of my favorites with its balance of perspectives and explorations of questions asked in the first chapter like how does Twilight look and how is her magic. I enjoyed the way it showed Twilight's internal struggle witch really feels like a product of its time and I was happy to return to Ponyville and see what has been going on in the after math of Twilight's presentation with

Reread and thoughtful re-experience of Solitary Locust chapter one, Changeling Magic · 7:41pm Nov 23rd, 2015

The Parasprite recently announced that they would be leaving FimFiction for the time being and leaving their account forever; for more information please read their blog.

In light of this I wanted to tell them how much I appreciated their story Solitary Locust witch I told them in a comment on the blog linked above and where I said I would reread the entire story to solidify my feelings about it. In the original comment I did not say I would be recording my thoughts after every chapter but I that is what I now intend to do so here it is, chapter one.

I really enjoyed how "downhome" the begging of the chapter is with all the characters being introduced in ones and twos with funny dialog like Pinkies rendition of the time she and Applejack went to see BatMare. If the chapter and the story as a whole was shorter I may have criticized how much time was spent on "small talk" and small details that made each scene feel longer that in the show and in most written works but since the whole story has this trait and this gives it a bit of a "fat" feeling for me but regardless these scenes do not feel out of place because of it.

When Twilight does get on to stage is when the chapter really shines in my opinion; when Twilight starts to panic she does not identify it as such and continues to rationalize it witch is presented in a very believable that feels almost unchanged when compared to how one might write a season five Twilight and demonstrates how little she has changed in this respect over the years.

The changeling transformation scene is much how I remember it from the first time I read it however I did not remember Twilight breaking her leg like she did, I just remembered that she escaped and that it exhausted her but assumed she had broken it latter on and that she had it for most of the story.

In all I enjoyed the chapter, although I feel that none of the fat can really be removed without removing part of the stories Identity I some times feel like I am moving through the stories plot at a snails pace. Also, Monty python joke is best joke.
