Lena Hall? No clue who she is, but let's go!
After two "meh" episodes, this was... okay. I'm glad they didn't go the route of her letting the fame go to her head and now she's a snob. I hated the manager pony and he was a distraction from the real interesting part of the episode, that being Coloratura and Applejack. They didn't need the manager to introduce artificial conflict. What of Coloratura had self-esteem problems and was convinced she needed her manager to be successful, or she realized what a dick he was but kept him around because he was good at his job? As-is though, it was okay. Pinkie's humor was great and the kid angle was good to humanize Coloratura.
And do I even need to say it? The music is gorgeous.
A very basic but serviceable episode that will be remembered for its new character and songs. Plotwise it was weak, but that's okay, the draw here was Lena Hall and she delivered.
Pinkie just won the "Most terrifying face of the series" award. Forever.
