Why So Many One Shots? · 12:07am Nov 16th, 2015
I get asked quite frequently why all I write are one shots.
I don't—I have a couple ongoing epics—but I felt I'd address this question here in a post so everyone understands how my Noiry little brain works.
Fate's Symphony is why I'm here. It's my magnum opus and the tale I started writing to tell on FIM. There's also a longer RariShy called A Model Relationship if shipping and mild clop is your thing. Oh, and Nova, but that story might be dead in the water.
Everything else is what I like to call "hummingbird thoughts" that I have to write down and finish or they never leave me alone. They get in the way of the seriousness that Fate's requires and the only way I can focus is to get them out of my head.
That's why I have so many one shots. I can write something amusing or emotional fairly quickly and get back to the main story I'm here to pen.
I might revisit some of my one shots someday and expand—I've certainly considered the idea. A Model Relationship began that way.
I hope this helps, everypony!

I find one shots get more likes. That is why I write them, and epics can take longer than you want them to take, so you one leaves one's readers waiting too long.
