Title says it all, so I figured I'd hop on here and see what you guys think. That idea of doing sort of...amateur story reviews/reactions or whatever really got me excited. What do you guys think? Seem like something to try out? And if so, any of you guys have a story to recommend? It could be a story you stumbled upon and wanna send me in as a scout to give you a feel for it. Could be a story you really liked and want to see what I think of it as well. It could even be your own story you'd like another opinion on. Anything is open to me, though I really like the idea of that last one. Maybe on top of that I'll do proofreading work too for stories that are in the works...? But anyway, yeah.
In other news, if you guys are anything like me, you likely don't know about the thing that certainly everyone is talking about happening in Paris right now. I don't know for sure what's happening out there at all, only that it's bad and I wish there was something I could do. I guess just give our hearts to those in danger, as well as their friends and families, and hope that it resolves soon. I do know that there are charities in place already, though. I saw a post saying that all tips at the local Papa Murphey's were going to one such charity. Suddenly, giving a tip almost half as much as the actual cost of the pizza didn't seem that hefty at all...
To answer one part, an Eagles of Death Metal concert and other venues in and around Paris were hit by bombers and shooters related to Daesh. Last I heard, the number of casualties hit one-twenty.
For the other part, though... I have bookshelves and bookshelves of stories to read, but the only one I've been keeping up with is The Things Tavi Says by shortskirtsandexplosions. It's not only Taviscratch, but also a look at the world through the eyes and ears of a synesthete.
