The Sound of Silence, the teaser

Personally, I think it would be filled with the cries, threats, and lamentations of deprived readers.

    Anyway!

    Bronycon

I know so many of you have been waiting for something - anything - from me, and this likely wasn't it. Buuuuuut, I am at Bronycon, so if you're here, you can yell at me in person. Yes, I'll happily welcome that.

What I've been doing? I'll reserve that for after LineCon.

As ever, I'll probably be at Quills and Sofas a bunch, with occasional dips for Pokemon, or something.

I moofed! · 4:13am Nov 4th, 2015

I bet you all are wondering a great many things - I am too! - though the foremost is likely what happened to all the cheese. I'll get to that. In the more immediate term, I have indeed moved. Solo apartment life was going to soon become untenable and thankfully I have some good friends who helpfully reminded me in passing that I had an open invitation to stay with them. So I did the only sensible thing and announced that I was going to be taking them up on that. :fluttershysad: If you wouldn't mind all that much, thank you.

The move is largely over now and I just need to figure out where to put everything. It's... different. I can no longer just waltz around naked (Oh my!), nor can I stock the pantry as I see fit; when I see fit to do it (drat...), nor can I easily plop down somewhere comfy and expect to not be bothered, should I so choose (fudge!). But there are so many other amazing things about it.

For one, my friends are thrilled to have my cat around to harass theirs.

And now I can get back into the swing of more important things! Like driving an hour to work...

I mean writing! :twilightsheepish:

I'd also like to extend my thanks to those who suggested activities for the trip to Oregon I took early last month; I didn't do any of them! We never toodled around Portland because other things were always happening, and unfortunately Bend's lava tubes were closed for the season. (Think of the bats! The bats! :flutterrage:)

But I had a lot of fun. It was a vastly different place than I'd imagined. Unlike the east coast which is pretty consistent landform-wise for hours in every direction, Oregon changes vastly over only a few hundred miles. Coastal, super-lush valley, mountainous and alpine, sprawling pine and scrub forest, cloistered arid mesa valleys, nearly barren plateau, and back again... Sheesh!

And what's this?

I, um, may have "accidentally" brought the Word of Biscuit to (not quite but kinda' near) the summit of Hood. Was a hell of a workout, but totally worth it to hike from 6000 feet to 7000 in about a mile. (I should have joined my cousin in his jeep... Nah! Not a chance!)

And once again, I save the most important part for last. You all want an update! Chapter 11 is at just over 12k words at the moment and well on its way to being completely written. Unfortunately I encountered some authorial difficulties when I realized that a portion of my initial plan was both somewhat redundant, and also rather unrealistic. I had to chop up a good chunk of what I'd written and am only just now finishing up shuffling things around.

Gah! It's like having to re-cut existing puzzle pieces and then have to figure out if the puzzle will still work out in the end... :ajbemused:

But I'm getting going, never fear! I kinda' feel like I should give you all something... But I's gots narsink...

Maybe an Ask Me (most) Anything? I hear those are pretty happening with the in-kids these days. :moustache:

The most amazing thing about this is that Admiral Biscuit apparently has fan t-shirts. That's just kind of a "what?" moment.

You're goddamn right I have fan t-shirts.

:rainbowlaugh: Looks like I have to step up my game if I want to stay competitive.

Damn, wish I had the time to go on a vacation like that one... Mt. Hood looks awesome! (On a story note, if I can help, give me a shout. )

Ah, good to hear from you, my friend!

Hope you're enjoying yourself! Make sure to visit the lava tube caves if you're over by Bend!

For one, my friends are thrilled to have my cat around to harass theirs.

That should make you realize that

(1)Your friends mainly want your cat around. You were just a tag along.
(2) You didn't decide to move--your cat did. As a cat owner, you should know this by now.

:rainbowlaugh:

:rainbowlaugh: I kind of want to argue with you about this, but I also know better than to debate with the truth.

All hail the word of Biscuit!

I can no longer just waltz around naked

You can still waltz around naked (although there's a very good possibility that if you do, your friends might politely suggest that you move back out).

Yay for Update Hype!

My current schedule has just not been kind free time-wise...

One day the Church of Biscuit will be a phenomenon, and on that day I shall stride boldly forth to proclaim before the clamoring masses:

"Fourth!"

(Because I think I was the fourth to get one.) :derpytongue2:

It was! It was also intimidating. There's a giant spire of stone jutting up at a slight leftward angle and surrounded by snow. That's the lava plug. Give that a wiggle and get an eruption... :rainbowderp:

But the view was wonderful and it was supremely entertaining to ride around in my cousin's 1952 Korean War Jeep and getting to see all the back areas of the place.

And thanks for the offer again! If anything, I'd be looking for second opinions on plot points, as well as suggestions, but the thing I've been cutting and pasting is simply some unnecessary redundancy combined with a bit of something that probably wouldn't happen the way I'd initially envisioned. I just can't bring myself to move forward when the things don't really make sense with regard to what they're leading to.

:rainbowlaugh:

I got to visit the grave of my Great Great Great Grandfather and his wife (and his brother, some of his children, and some grandchildren...), and hike almost up to Tumalo Falls (they were working on the water line to town, so we couldn't actually get there without a much much longer hike)!

"To do list:

Let the cat in.
Let the cat out.
Let the cat in.
Let the cat out.

Oowaaahhh! Get pumped!

Wait, what was I doing again?

Biscuit tells me I should make wlam shirts. You want a wlam shirt? :derpytongue2:
