The four alicorns (Princess Celestia, Princess Luna, Princess Cadence, Princess Twilight) power's combined into one by Princess Twilight was enough to equally match Tirek, who had taken the power of all the ponies of Equestria and Discord's power.
Consider, even if you divide their power even into quarters. Each of the alicorns are still insanely powerful, four just 4 of them combined would give Tirek a hard time. That's a pretty terrifying power level.
So... in some way in fan fiction an alicorn being overpowered may not be against canon very much. Still, it's a fan fiction at the end of day, so you don't have to stick to canon like glue.
Chrysalis did overpower Celestia.

Well,the magic power in MLP is quite confusing.
i mean,Celestia and Luna weren't able to defeat discord without the EoH
Celestia wasn't able to defeat Nightmare Moon without the EoH.
Nightmare Moon wasn't able to defeat Twillight in one on one(She was pretty stupid tho,so its kind of normal)
Chrysalis just sucked the love of one little fella and overpowered Celestia.(its makes you think about what would have happened and how powerful she would have been if she had feast on all the love of Equestria)Yet,She and all of her army ironically got defeated by an alicorn and a suck dry unicorn rubbing each other horns.Which created an explosion of love.they basically got defeated by her food
It only took one unicorn to steal the cutie mark of Alicorn Twillight and by doing so,her magic.
Yet,Tirek wasn't able to defeat Twillight in one on one with all the pony magic of equestria (minus Alicorn Magic)and Discord's magic
And neither was Twillight with 4 alicorn magic.
Like i said,Mlp Magic is wierd
One day,its all powerful,the other,its shitty as fuck
But like you said,you can do whatever the fuck you want with what you write

Which mean she got even more stronger than Celestia with only the love of one unicorn
