    Words in print

Recently, I've been asked for permission by Avonder to include Whom The Princesses Would Destroy... in a story anthology he's putting together. I'm not one for hoarding words and I gave it quite, quite gladly.

    You'll find it here.

    Now(TM) with Travel Advice

I'm safely ensconced in my hotel room in Ludwigsburg. Hope to meet at least some of you. To increase the odds of this happening, I offer the following advice:

    Soon(TM)

I will be flying to Galacon 2018 in under twelve hours and I expect I will be safely in Ludwigsburg within 24 hours. I will be hard to contact during this period, though I think I've acquired a method of fool-proof Internet access no matter where I am (aside from six miles straight up, of course).

Hope to see many of you soon!

    Happy July 20th!

...or July 21st, depending on your timezone.

49 years ago the first manned Moon landing was accomplished. It is one of my favorite moments in history (To learn about my favorite you may have to wait for December the 9th), and to celebrate I've re-edited Hoofprints to be a little less... ah, draft-y.

Despite popular rumors I am not, in fact dead.

Honest.

I'm just... ruined by the amount of work I have[1]. I can't seem to get to grips with it all and all my social obligations are slipping. In fact, if you've e-mailed me or something lately and I seem to be giving you the silent treatment: it's absolutely not your fault. I'm just completely swamped. And rubbish.

Sorry. :fluttershyouch:

[1] I just got home from a twenty hour workday. I think I may have forgotten how to sleep.

Okay. Um. Some news.

Uh.

I sort of won the RCL anniversary thing. Um. I should probably say that when I explained how the victor will have their face on the rebuilt Colossus of Rhodes that I didn't actually think I had a hope of winning. I didn't even check the votes. I had to be told about it. Bit of a shock, that.

Thank you for proving me spectacularly wrong. I am particularly humbled 'cos the slate of other candidates was absolutely tremendous. Magnificent, even. My interview will be coming out as a site post in a day or two, and I'll link you guys to it then. In it I explain the Patented Ghost Method For Writing Characters (Step 1. Make something up. Step 2. Wing it. Step 3. Cross that bridge when I come to it. Step 4. Panic.) and I talk about tea. Again. A real corker, as you may imagine. :trollestia:

Last, but by no means least, I give you a Polish translation of Twilight Sparkle Makes a Cup of Tea done by the magnificent Nicolas Dominique. Give it a view if you speak the language.

Excellent. I am delighted to see signs of life from you. I hope your work load settles down to some semblance of normalcy soon; contrary to the opinion of many academics, twenty hour working days become counterproductive very quickly. My congratulations on your win

Ghost, I think you're demonstrating that you have a poor grasp on what makes for a popular rumor. I think this is basically the definition of an unpopular rumor.

"I am not, in fact dead."

What? I just... I'm sorry, this comes as something of a shock. I mean... it's in the username, you know? You're GhostOfHeraclitus. When was the last time you ever heard of a living ghost?

I hate to say it, but I'm feeling rather completely betrayed, and... I just don't think I can follow someone who so blatantly tries to pull the wool over his followers' eyes.

Farewell.

Imposter.

also congratulations on the RCL win you are a scholar and a gentleman

Congratulations!---what? Oh, on not being dead, of course. Some days that's quite an accomplishment.

But the pony thing is nice too. :pinkiehappy:

Seriously, well done and very happy for you. I look forward to reading the prizewinning story!

Good to hear you're still there. Real life always has to take precedence; here's hoping it eases up soon. And congratulations on the RCL redux!

Good to hear from you, and congrats on the re-feature! Hope your workload gets more sane soon!

Kudos on maintaining that ethereal presence between life and unlife.

Sooooo... Clearly you're not dead, but you’ve been away for a while. How do we know you're not a changeling, hmmmm? [1]

Congratulations on the well-deserved win, sir!

[1] Assuming of course you weren't one already.

Translated by ND! That's cool! :D

Oh dear; good luck with all that work, and thanks for the update.
And congratulations on winning that. :)

He's identified dead since a very early age.

YUO HATMONGER!!!!!!

He can't not be a changeling. That's already my shtick. :ajbemused:

3489848 Your logic is unassailable! And... stuff.

Wait a second... If he can't also not be a changeling because you are already not a changeling, then clearly you are a changeling defending Ghost because he is not a changeling, because you don't want to be outed as anything but "not a changeling". Obviously. So you have given yourself away sir! :facehoof:

Prepare to face the power of, um... Oh yeah, Friendship.

He is most emphaticallynot dead! Just pinin' for the fjords!

You know, all imortality is is managing not to be dead for a very long while...

As someone who regularly works 20+ hour shifts, you have my sympathy. Don't panic! Forgetting how to sleep is a perfectly normal reaction. As is forgetting the date, your name, and how to blink.

The only known cure is writing more pony.

Twenty hours...

Jeez, and I complain when I work more than ten.. :fluttershbad:

Ooooh another interview though, excelleeeent.

Just don't burn yourself out, Ghost. Nothing is worth that.

Must be tough days down in the lecture mines. Ungrateful student foremen letting you hack away at thesis ore all day, and nary a thank you for it.

Cake and strong drink will be provided for breakfast.

3489975 Just resting his eyes, no?

We know what happened--Venkman had 'im in the trap again!

I suppose you'll be wanting these ten bits back, then.
