What's Changed in SWTOR 4.0 · 7:23pm Oct 21st, 2015

Rather than link the patch notes, let me give you the biggest changes for Knights of the Fallen Empire, if you were thinking about returning.

> Level sync. In short, being over-leveled is a thing of the past, and time investment is fixed. While the 12x Class Boost promotion is done, now it's been split up into something permanent. Simply put, you get around 6x for your Class arc, 6x for the Planet arc, and anything else is your choice. Sure, this means if you choose to do everything, you'll be in the 30's after the third planet, but now you have the freedom to do everything or just the bare essentials to get the story content.

> Companion affection has been re-tooled as Influence. Instead of the 10,000 points of Affection, you now have 50 levels of Influence. When a companion's Influence levels up, they perform crew tasks faster, and they give you a boost to your Presence stat.

> Companion gear is now for appearance purposes only. The only thing that truly matters what you give them is the weapon. That's it. Everything else is tied to their level and influence level. Of course, due to this, there is a very good chance that returning players will log in to find their companion pants-less. We've come to call it Knights of the Fallen Trousers. Also, since they offered no appearance differences, this means Droid Armor is gone. It has been replaced with "Valuable Droid Parts" which can be sold to any vendor for a hefty sum of credits.

> The lack of role-specific companion gear now means any companion can fill the role of Tank, Healing, or Damage. Now you can finally use the companion you want, and not the one whose role you need.

> All Heroic 4's have been adjusted down to Heroic 2's. This means that if you know what you're doing, or with a high enough Presence stat, all Heroic content can be solo'd.

> There is now a "Legendary" acheivement for completing all 8 Class origin stories. It's given me serious motivation to go back to the four classes I have not completed.

> If you've already done all the story content, you can make a Level 60 character to jump right into the Knights of the Fallen Empire content. But this also means the game will assume you are a veteran, and cannot do anything below Level 60.

Of course, that's not everything, but it's what has me playing for 6+ hours daily again.

So much has changed in SWTOR, I like it, it makes the game a lil better, only thing I hate is your quest thing shows up as purple...

3486848 That's to distinguish your Class and Planet arcs apart from everything else.

This answers a lot of my questions about the new update, thanks.

3486875 I'm also still trying to figure out what type of class I should do, I got 3, A Gunslinger, a Sith warrior, (Which I plan to have become a Sith Jugg) and a Jedi Shadow, so since you seem to be a pro at this, which do you thank would be best to level first?

Personally, I think the Sith Warrior story is the best in the game.

3487873 Whoops, look at the above post

3487873 LS Sith Warrior, that is.

3487895 Light Side ay, I thank I can manage an LS playthough, but pity it has maintenance tomorrow. thx for helping me pick, :)
