Flight Training is Officially on Hiatus. · 3:56am Aug 9th, 2012
*Gasp* Say it isn't so!
Anyway, I saw this on EqD http://www.equestriadaily.com/2012/08/a-couple-of-neat-tidbits-of-information.html#more , and it kinda made me rethink Flight Training. Since Faust intended Scootaloo to be unable to fly, the events of the story could never happen.
Unless I hear (or see) anything to change this, or the video I saw turns out to be false, Flight Training will be officially placed on the back burner.
Kinda sad, too, since I was about a page away from completing chapter four.
But, you might ask, why has this changed my mind at all?
I like my stories to be as close to canon as possible. This was a thought that I had when I started this story: I told myself that if at any point the show conflicted with something in my story, I would either change it to fit, or simply stop altogether.
Well, the statement of "Scootaloo is disabled and can't fly" is a pretty big conflict with a story about Scootaloo learning to fly.
What with my notes, and Chapter Four?
I may finish and post Chapter Four, since it's so close to completion. As for my notes; they will be used in the future on other projects. If anyone is working on a flying story and wants some very detailed notes written by an aerospace engineering student on the flight characteristics of a flying horse, let me know: I would be glad to share with you.
Anyway, that is my official statement on Flight Training's status. I really hope it turns out to be false.
since it was never mentioned in the show, and since Faust isn't in charge anymore, it is very possible that there will eventually be an episode where she flies

Yes, Faust is gone, but do you really get the impression that her original ideas aren't still gospel?
Anyway, it's beside the point. On my drive home from work this evening, I actually thought of a creative way to make this work, and it fits in with my original ideas very well. I can add on to the prologue with some intriguing story (something I've been wanting to do ever since I wrote it), and spin a nice convoluted web of mystery, all at the same time!
*snickers and rubs hands together* Ooh Fun! I'm excited about this story! Again!
