Well holy crap, it's done!
It took like... what... 2.5 years? I hope you guys enjoyed it very much. I know I laid off of pony writing for a long time to recharge my batteries, and those that were following this story certainly got abused in how long it actually took to get the entire thing written.
Now I know there are probably questions, given how the story turned out in all eventuality. So I'll try to address those here:
1. Discord's Plague Purging. I had this planned for a LONG time, ever since it was mentioned that he was imprisoned for reversing gravity on the planet for five hours. "Oh because he's Discord" was not a good enough reason for such a mass slaughter. An extinction event, a war, or some other massive event had to happen for that. And it was imperfect as it was. Celestia was still carrying the plague, 5% of the carriers were still on the planet, and so on, but it at least kept the world from ending entirely. It was kept vague since, even with his Mother's Eyes, such a broad and brutal method was not perfect. But it did cripple the spread of the plague itself. I wanted Discord to come across as a sort of Asmodeus from Watchman, sort of villian. Willing to sacrifice others for the sake of the collective, and willing to be the villain to do so, even if history writes him off as mad.
2. Sombra's Fate. Yes yes, I know many of you probably think Sombra is the biggest un-fired Checkov's gun imaginable. But, not everyone's story comes to a neat and complete conclusion in real life, so not everypony was going to have a story arc that came to its logical conclusion. Yes, he has the POTENTIAL to make a weather machine that would punch a hole in the atmosphere and end all life on the planet... but that doesn't mean he's going to. Chrysalis is sitting fat and happy, so his remorse and guilt over the super-storm will no doubt hold him back from it forever. He's sad for losing Lemon Lime, but that's life. It doesn't always turn out with a neat and tidy bow.
3. Bandaid and Nightmare. there's only so much abuse a guy can take from someone's family before distancing oneself, right? That only made sense to move out of the "house of the gods" and off into his own little place for Nightie to visit. That and we already know Ponyville reveres Nightmare, so they're bound to treat the royal coltfriend well, right? Right. It only seemed logical for Bandaid to get fed up and be out of sight, out of mind to the other four gods. And since they have the mirrors now, Nightie can visit whenever she likes. The contract, while merely a piece of paper and gold that could be violated, helps too.

Anyhoo, thank you for joining me on this massive project, game of gods, or whatever you'd like to call it. Would I ever write more, containing the wedding or children of Princess Nightmare Moon? Well that depends entirely on secondary storylines. Return was all about Twilight and Blueblood. Affection was all about Chrysalis and Celestia/Discord's reconsiling. What would any sort of third story be about? I dunno. But I don't wanna rush in and make it a trilogy without any idea of what I'm doing. Luna's Story 4 and Seeing the Pattern 3 were all stunted projects that got cancelled because of that and that wasn't fair to you guys, the readers. So, if a great idea springs to mind I will certainly persue it for a third and final chapter to this series, but until that inspiration comes, I'll just let this story rest for now. And myself as well!

Well, instead of a full blown PRINCESS NIGHTMARE MOON 3... Why not Princess Nightmare Moon: The Anthology? A story where each chapter doesn't have to follow each other and you can write anytime you get an urge to write in this particular universe. Want to write about a date between Blueblood and Twilight? Ok. Want to write the wedding between Nightmare Moon and Bandaid? Go ahead. An epic wrestling match between the five children of Faust on the Moon? No one is stopping you. This will give your fans the more they will clamor for and the chance of an out if you ever get bored of writing more about this version of Equestria.

Barring that, you could do something with Twilight and Blueblood coming to ponyville for some reason? Show how she would, or in some cases would not, become friends with the rest of the Mane Six. Either way, I would focus on characters other than the gods. Gods tend to get boring or irritating after a while. The "high and mighty" attitudes, the looking at mortals as little things or poor souls, even if passive or faint, irk me, personally. Yeah, I know: they ARE gods, so of course they think that way. Well, of COURSE Hitler would hate Jews, or a Klansman would of COURSE hate black people. Being true doesn't mean I want to read about it.
They were a good 2.5 years Aegis, and you are still writing other story's so good times still ahead.
Would someone mind reminding what these "Mother's Eyes" are? I seem to be forgetting what they are.
3472147 Discord can see all things, everywhere, anytime he wants. He can see the past with perfect clarity, given a location to spy on. Also, invoking his name turns his ear and he will use said god vision to see who is talking about him. The only comparible being that can do that is his mother, Faust. So I named the ability "Mother's Eyes". (He can't see the future, though, since it isn't written in stone to be viewed)
Gotta say, the reference to Ozymandias* of The Watchman just hella tickled my fancy. I barely know anyone who knows about the movie, let alone the comics and such

I'd like to say that I enjoyed your story. I loved how not only did you focus on the relationship between Nightmare and Bandaid, but also how you expanded the character development of her siblings. I enjoyed how you showed Chrysalis' situation as the only mortal of her family, Celestia's flaws as a pony and as a sister, and how Discord was more benevolent than expected from his trickster personality. You know, if you ever make a sequel featuring a wedding, then the subplot should focus on Nightmare Moon and her siblings having family counseling after an awkward Hearts Warming Eve, due to them reconciling more as individuals than as a family. To make matters more complicated, family counseling takes a turn for the worse when an old enemy of Faust (like Tirek or other villains) comes to Equestria and none of them knows how to beat him due to their inability to fight as a family or as a team.
Darn. Its over. With some fics, you feel as if they are just there, you know? Every so often there is the update, and after you finish it there will be another update soon. It feels like they could go on forever, in a good way. Until the day comes even those kind of fics come to an end.
It's been a long and enjoyable journey. Thank you.
Now to wait for the inevitable "The Marriage of Princess Nightmare Moon" to come out. Let the games begin anew...

Story idea for you. We know of Faust's children, but what if they werent her FIRSTS children. What if Faust had another son, the first child, born long ago, before the others even existed. Now, if this is true, why arent there any records of him? That is the real question. What could the child of Faust do that was so bad, or that Faust didnt agree with, that the Mother of Creation had to erase all traces of him, as well as never tell her children of him, for fear of how they might respond. Now, what would happen if this son returned to Equis?
