Why is pandering supposed to be bad? · 8:49am Oct 13th, 2015
Random, I know. Especially because this is the first blog post I've made in like, a year. But honestly, I want to know. I think it's awesome that the writers take the feedback they get from the fans and add it to the canon. Like Princess Big Mac in "Do Princesses Dream of Electric Sheep?" That was SO awesome!
I mean, let's face it. MLP: FiM has become its own entity. It's far more and far different than anyone ever could have possibly expected. And we have the fans to thank for that. Would MLP have ever made it FIVE seasons if it hadn't been for us? And pandering or not, this fifth season has been the MOST epic so far. There hasn't been a single episode this season that I didn't love.
So is the reasoning behind the pandering hate because it might alienate new viewers? Who wouldn't think Princess Big Mac isn't funny? And if they aren't fans, how would they even recognize it?
If anyone would care to illuminate me on why people quit the fandom because the writers pander to us, please comment, because I am super curious.
