If you like D&D stuff, or just tabletop rpg stuff in general, one of the people I follow online is trying to get funding to create something to sell for Dungeon Masters to increase immersion.

    Happy Holidays

This is your yearly reminder that I wrote a decently funny Christmas story in the long-ago times. If you haven't read it, you should! If you have read it, maybe you should just stick with blurred memories of how good it was.

    Books!

So, due to my high level connections here and there, I now have an advance copy of several highly sought after ponyfic books. Now that I've had a chance to check several of them out in person, I have to say that Ponyfeather Publishing does excellent work. Anyone able to pick one up, at Bronycon or ordering them afterward, should totally do so.

So, I've actually been posting on my primary blog lately. Which has been nice, given that I've pulled myself out of depression enough to actually do stuff like that. So, here's been my daily content over there:

What Rarity Needs by Ebon Mane

Pretty good shipping story. Might be a little biased since I’m a fan of Applejack and Rarity, but still was a sweet story. A little rushed in places pacing-wise, but all the characters were very believable. Also had a few tiny bits of fun worldbuilding. Like the throw-away line near the end about Spike being able to see illusion magic because he is a dragon. Story is also fairly predictable, but it avoids being a major flaw. I’d recommend it if you wanted a simple shipping story.

Rarity Loses Her Innocence In a Poker Game by MrNumbers

Silly and fluffy. It’s pretty much what the title and description promise. I laughed at it and you might too. Just don’t expect anything, well, anything with substance. It’s just a silly comedy.

The Sunday Session by Chuckfinley
[story tagged mature] [my original review]

Porn. Bit extreme in the SM part of the BDSM, but pretty well done. Has some very extreme pain play in the second chapter, so anyone who doesn’t like that sort of thing should steer clear. I still think my favorite part is the description.

Risk Aware Consensual Pony by Chuckfinley
[story tagged mature] [my original review]

Much like previous, though not nearly as extreme. First chapter even has a bit of story mixed in with the porn. In semi-related, I’m once again reminded how curious I find that BDSM seems to be such a social kink. In general anyway.

Warmongering by BronyWriter

Meh, I was unimpressed with this. It was a bit too reasonable and I don’t see Princess Celestia acting like she does for so long in these letters. The second chapter that isn’t in the letters is a bit better. Now, I really liked Letter to the Gryphon emperor, which is similar. That was because that one had a increasing curve of ridiculousness that made clear it was meant to be comedic. As well as something like that (a thorough point by point explanation of why war is a bad idea) is something I could see Twilight Sparkle doing.

As always, The Big Master Review List is here: { THE MASTER LIST }
If you know of a text-format reviewer I'm not keeping track of, please let me know and I'll see if they meet the criteria to be assimilated into the list.

If you are an author who wants a more detailed review of a story I've covered feel free to message me. My reviews tend to be fairly light, mostly just reactions to a story right after reading it. I am happy to give a more careful read and reply to anyone who wants more precision and/or feedback.
