You make it sound as though once the show ends, the fandom (and the sub fandoms within the fandom) will simply fade into obscurity. I mean, it may not be your intent (I'm sure it isn't) but your first sentence makes it sound like once the show's over, it's the end of the line for the fandom as well. Just because the show's final curtain call is approaching doesn't mean it's the fandom's as well. (Geez, that was a little long winded of me, wasn't it? )
