WHOA WHOA WHOA - CMC EPISODE!

    WHAAAAAT?

    I repeat:

    WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?

    (spoilers ahead)

Okay, I almost actually cried when they got their marks. Not kidding. And I had to come somewhere to flail about it, because no one else understands. I've tried to tell several people how big this is today. They all just pat me on the head. (Side note: why doesn't anyone in my real life love ponies the way I do?)

    New multi-chapter? (Question mark?)

Guys, I've had a fun story idea kicking around in my head for ages, and I've just written the first couple pages of it. I LOVE IT so far. Sooooo much love. That said, though...

I don't have a lot of spare time in my life, so if I was to start posting this new fic, updates might be spaced apart.

    Also: it's not Sparity-centric.

    Whoa. Two new oneshots? Whaaaaaaat?

    Well howdy, everypony!

Between rewatching Season 4 and boarding the hype train for Season 5, I've managed to squeak out a couple of new stories for anyone who still keeps track of this account. I know I'd put myself on permanent hiatus from writing pony fanfic, but bah. I'm a grown up, and I do what I want. Yeah!

The State of Sparity: Season 4

I've recently finished my rewatch of Season 4, and I've gotta say, I'm really pleased with how they've handled the Spike/Rarity relationship this past season. I hope they continue to handle it with care in Season 5.

I can't believe it's been 5 years since MLP first aired. That means it's been 4 1/2 years since I joined the fandom. That's a long time to watch 3 characters try to pursue a dream. Wow!

I'm really happy they all received matching marks, and that their marks aren't just the "obvious" talents we've seen for all of them all along, but are more nuanced now to reflect their can-do, super encouraging attitudes.

I feel like a proud parent. I just want to give them all hugs.

Way to go, CMC. You finally did it.

Season six will be about the Crusaders and their own map, traveling all across Equestria to help ponies understand their cutie marks.

Griffons and dragons are forgotten for the rest of the show.

yeah dreams should come true now lets have the writers get Spike and Rarity together

So, hey... I thought you should know that you're pretty much the SOLE reason that today's episode in its entirety was just spoiled for me. I feel bad saying this, but it's the truth. You didn't put much effort into letting the reader now there would be spoilers, as there was nothing in the title. I initially thought you were commenting on whether you liked it or not, as most authors will do. I looked at the title regardless, and started scrolling past. I DID see the poilers ahead thing, but since your journal had no page break, your entire post was visible within the feed, so it wasn't hard to see information as I scrolled past.

Noone should need to avoid their story feed in the effort to avoid spoilers. Why couldn't this have waited until Sunday or Monday, when most would have seen the episode by then?

I'm sorry about the post, and this is no slight against you personally, but I'm just so frustrated now.

(though, this did remind me that I need to finish Of Age.)

Urgh, alright... Guilt is eating at me. Sorry about my last post. I had time to cool down, and I apologize. I was just frustrated.

I almost actually cried when they got their marks.

I fucking did cry, and I ain't ashamed. This is such a huge milestone. Our little fillies are growing up!

3460119 So sorry! I barely ever come on here, so I had no idea there was a blog feed that would just list people's posts flat out. I assumed people would just see this notification and go click on the post to read it if they wanted...

If it's any consolation, I also had the episode spoiled for me--by MLP's actual facebook page, no less! Barely hours after the episode aired, they posted this huge thing about the CMC getting their marks, with a picture and everything.

I heard about that thing on their facebook page, yeah. That's ridiculous. Anyway, It's very much okay. I overreacted to be quite honest, and I felt pretty bad about it. I managed to watch the episode, and thankfully the reveal was no less exciting.

Tip in the future though. If you make a blog post, you can start off your post with a sentence or two, press enter to skip a line down, and then click the page break button in the editing tools and press enter again and continue your post like normal, it'll place a nice "Read more" button on the feed, hiding everything below the page break until the person clicks on it. Handy for episode spoiler stuff.

3461459 Urgh, I got spoiled by the MLP FB page too!! Sods! Also I think the cutie marks are ugly and it makes me want to cry because OMG, it is so great that they found their talents but goshdarnit, I'm a graphic designer & they deserve better. LOL.

Sometimes I almost think it's impossible to watch significant surprises without having them spoiled ahead of time, if you're not able to watch it live right as it premieres. That morning when I first opened my browser a couple hours after the episode aired, the very first thing I saw the instant I looked at my screen was a Tumblr post about how the CMC got their cutie marks. Not the slightest hint of a spoiler warning or anything, and the very first sentence just immediately gave everything away before I even had a chance to think about what I was looking at. And then when several other people complained about the spoiler, the response was a bunch of comments blaming us for being on the internet. I try to avoid sites that are very likely to have spoilers, but there's not much you can do about it when it's thrown right in your face the second you look at the screen. Really would've been nice to have been able to be surprised, just watching the episode and not know it was coming.

Oh well, it was still definitely one of the most moving moments of the series. All that time and emotion and waiting and everything finally paying off, it really did feel like a huge moment. And I agree that it's nice that their marks are shared with each other, neat to see them more than just the obvious. I've gotta say that I'm not super fond of how they look, though. They aren't too bad, but still kind of ehh. And oddly, when looking at them from a zoomed-out view, they kind of remind me of the Canadian flag somehow, especially Sweetie Belle's.

(Not sure why it took me 2 1/2 days to finally finish writing this comment.)
