Plot Bunny #8 - The Guardians of Harmony

In the aftermath of the Friendship Games, the Mane Seven find that they can increasingly Pony Up on demand. They also start spontaneously showing Equestrian-style powers (e.g. Rainbow can manipulate the weather in localised areas and cloud-walk; Applejack has super-strength; Fluttershy starts hearing her animal friends talk back; Rarity develops telekinesis and an 'instinct' about the location of minerals in the area around her; Twilight starts spontaneously doing magic; Pinkie Pie doesn't change at all ).

Sunset and Princess Twilight work together to get these powers under control. It is, of all people, Fluttershy who suggests that they should start training themselves to use these powers responsibly for the greater benefit of the community. Rarity is overjoyed at the thought of designing a set of real superhero costumes without all those ridiculous clashing colours and hideous lines. The more everyone thinks about it, the more sense it makes.

So it is that the city of Everfree and its surrounding counties get very special protectors. They are the Legends of Everfree. They are the Guardians of Harmony!
