    Watch (This) Space

    Hello everyone!

I've been gone on hiatus for a few years. I stopped watching My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic in the middle of the seventh season. But a few months ago, my interest was rekindled. And the last two seasons were fantastic. The high point, for me, is the new characters -- the Student Six -- who breathed fresh life into the show.

For this blog, I just have a simple query. Do you think I should post "Origin Story" to FIMfiction as a story?

Originally, I wrote it as a special gift to everyone reading my blog. However, it has been some time since it was finished, and plenty of new readers have missed it. If I did so, it would be essentially identical to what appears in the blogs, with an added forward for context and framing. Considering the nature of the story, it may feel unfinished.

If I did this (and that is a mighty big if), I would be most thankful to anyone who was willing to give it an extra read-over for proofreading.

Id love to see it! i think you should it would please a lot of people:pinkiehappy:, of course you should only do what you want though

I never got a chance to read origin story, but having it as an actual story on FIMFiction sounds like a wonderful idea.

I'm going to say yes. In my opinion the layout of the site and the stories is more friendly to the reader than blogposts are.

Yeah, you should do that! :pinkiehappy:

I'd love to look it over for you for proof reading if you need someone to do so!

Yes, you should!

I would also suggest posting it, providing another way for the content to be accessed. The added bonus is that the origin story will more then likely hit the feature box, which could possibly generate new readers and new interest.

You should, and I'm sure many of us would be honored to help proofread!

I'd love to see Origin Story on fimfic. It'd make it more accessible in my opinion.

Definitely! Ill bet there will be plenty of editors lining up at the door to help too

I could help if you absolutely need it, but there's probably enough people who are willing to do it. Just so long as it's grammatically correct and has a good tale to tell

I think that would be a great idea. To be honest, I felt posting it in blog post form was a bit awkward to read through, especially for new people.

I would say do it.

It would be really nice and cool of you to do that...so please do!!

Yes. I've been meaning to go through your blogs and read them for ages, but never got around to it. This would be good.

I haven't seen nor heard of it before, but this "Origin Story" has me intrigued, I say go for it.

I've been looking for more stories of yours to read. I say yes.

I don't see why not

I'm all for it. That said, if you'd rather keep it relatively obscure, an alternative would be to set up a permanent link to it on your user page.

hi hi

I admit that I was skeptical. I said to myself, "no way, of course people would see it right there in the blog index," but empirical evidence seems to indicate otherwise. Still, I feel that the notion that it would feel like an incomplete story is legitimate. The introduction does a reasonably good job of establishing the context that the pads were found in, but it isn't terribly in-character, or in scene. Perhaps adding a little bit more of an in-setting narration for how the reader is stumbling across these pads might help people follow the story without straining immersion? I dunno, just a thought.

things are easily missed on the blog, so I say go for it. I tend to not rate things until I know I actually like it, which means I need to read it first. So put it up, and I'll put it on my 'to read' list.

Yes, it's easier to read a story than a blog of the same length.

Yes, please!

Yes, yes and yes please

SO MUCH YES!

Also, be more then happy to do the proofreading pass, what's one more story added to the pile.:derpytongue2:

I would say yes, and I would be willing to give it a read-over if needed.

Yes that seems like a good idea.

yea i guess never heard of it

I've never read the original all the way through yet, but I'll get around to it. I would be more than happy to proofread, though, I doubt I'm the best for it.

Yes please.

I thought about looking at it, but have other stores on my list. I'm almost done with FoE, when I finish that I have Pink Eyes, Project Horizons and several others to finish. However, this will make the list. :twilightsheepish:

I don't know what this Origin fic is, as I haven't been around long enough to see em
(Or maybe I missed them?)

But I would love to help out with proofreading, that reading it and tacking down typos right?
I'm good at that :P
I finished Fo:E, but you already know that 8D

I'm for this Origin story business :rainbowkiss:

Go for it. I'd definitely read it.

I believe you should! I'd love to read something new I haven't even heard of the origins thing till just now

I'd like that. It would make it much easier to read and follow, thanks to bookshelves and such.

This seems like a good idea, since new readers are unlikely to see it otherwise.

You could always preface the story with an explanation of it's origin if you are worried that people would see it as somewhat short for a story.

'Origin Story'? Whuzzat? Whose 'Origin Story'?

Maaaybe. Just maaaaybe.

Uhh...heck yeah?

I do believe you should post it on here. It'd make me more likely to read it :derpytongue2: Seriously, though, I've been planning to read it, but I just haven't gotten around to it. If it were to posted on here, I could download the epub file and read it. I hope to see it soon-ish! :raritystarry:

I'd say yes, although I'll echo a few people in that it might need some touch ups for a bit more consistency. And I'd love to proof/pre-read (like lots of other people), it's just I don't have free time with school right now. :raritycry:

The Blog Index could use more love, it is a super useful resource to dive into your many blog posts. I love reading your blog posts after reading one of them, exploring it. I would say the link font for it could be bigger.

I havn't read the Daring Do Origin Story but I certainly plan on doing so sometime. These stories put in a blog post could certainly use the story tab.

One thing to think about Kkat is that with the amount of followers you have, the story is pretty much instantly going to hit the Feature Box, and you'll have plenty of people who might not know about FOE reading it. Just something to consider.

I'll gladly give it a detailed proofread if you decide to post it. :)

Yeah, I'd vote yes to that. I'd say it gives some interesting insight to the zebras' side of things during the war. And who better then from the insight of one of MLP's most traveled pony's.

Posting it as story, instead of blogs would make it a little easier to follow the whole thing. Though I do wonder if there might be touch ups here and there if it is posted as a story. One thing I suppose people will wonder is who's the pony reading these notes left behind by Daring Doo and why?

Yes, I really only have time to read on my bus commute to work or during break at work so I like to download stories to my kindle. Having it as a story would allow me to do that and give me an excuse to read Fallout: Equestria again.

It would make reading it much easier, especially on phone. It was problematic to keep track of it on phone and I still have some that I missed.
