Warning: This post contains spoilers for my MLP fanfiction, The Best of Both Worlds!
So recently I got this message on Tumblr:
According to this person, I’m transphobic because of my fanfic The Best of Both Worlds, and all of you are too for liking it it. How did they come to that conclusion, though?
Readers, help me out here. Did TBOB really reek of (unintentional) transphobia, or is this person just trying too hard to find symbolism that isn’t there?

Do you know how many stories I read where women have to hide their penises? I'm glad to finally read a story where a guy has to hide the fact that he is a she. Don't worry about that comment.
If anybody is a prick is that guy on Tumblr. Seriously, that comment seems to be from a guy that's purposely searching for a reason to be pissed at you rather than one that's genuinely insulted.
People like that are just trying to make themselves feel important by taking up a "noble cause". Half the time, they don't even really care about it, and tend to find any reason to demonstrate "righteous" they are. It sounds like he didn't even read it, to me. Where was this 'peer pressure' he was talking about? And where was it even hinted that Pip was transgender? Nowhere and nowhere.

Yeah, I got a good three new messages from a different person today, bringing back the fact that I used to write reviews for MLP, saying that Jerry Peet is funnier than I am, and then claiming that I live in my mom's basement and bitch and whine about things nobody cares about, despite the fact that I have a job and a girlfriend, live in my own house away from any of my family members, and that my mom and I had a falling out years ago. Tumblr really does have a lot of douchebags, and coincidentally, most of them are anonymous users.

I've been admittedly a little depressed by these comments, so this cheered me up.
3431956 I think this guy is just overanalyzing it and trying to find deeper meanings in stuff where it isn't there. Of course, I should talk. I tried doing it and it was actually pretty fun--see this post for my entire in-depth overanalysis of TBOBW. Who knows? I might start a full series trying to find symbolism in fanfics.

Let me translate the second comment for you. He says he thinks that TBOBW is transphobic because, according to him, Pipsqueak represent transgender boys trapped inside girls' bodies, and Rumble represents people who peer pressure them into being "normal" and having heterosexual sex with guys. Except, oh wait, Rumble never pressured Pip into anything. In fact, he was originally resistant from it.
