Updated Tydal Image and Scare Master Leak Discussion · 11:34pm Sep 29th, 2015
We'll be discussing the leaked episode of Scare Master in a second but before we do, since there are SPOILERS, I am going to use the discussion about the new Tydal image as a SPOILER WARNING BAR! If you don't want to be spoiled turn away now! I won't discuss the plot but a detail of the episode.
First things first... I spent the last few hours updating my Tydal base image (mostly because I saw Crow's image of Gertrude and felt Tydal needed to be spruced up to compete with her). I have updated the coloring (mostly just lining errors), the back fin, the hooves, his left legs (to make them positioned better), the lines on his neck, and his hair. There is still some work to be done on the tail blade but I'm not happy with any changes so I'm leaving it be for now. I also now wish I'd given him leg fins but I feel it is too late to make that massive of a change.
But the biggest plus is that I have now made Tydal have an invisible background, meaning you can easily insert him into images you create!
Okay, last chance before we talk about Scare Master to turn away!

So, I mentioned in another blog post that there was a moment in Scare Master that had me gasping and shocked and delighted. I also said I am most likely looking into things too deeply but hey, that is what this fandom is all about! About a 1/4th of the way into the epiosde Fluttershy goes with Rarity to pick out a Nightmare Night costume. But what is Rarity wearing?
Oh... just a costume that makes it look like the back half of her has a long fish tail... a fish tail that she happens to hit Fluttershy with twice ala a certain God of the Sea when he uses HIS tail.
And yes, I realize that she is probably suppose to be just a merpony/seapony. But the way the tail is set up so her four legs are free, the way the coloring works (similar to my capricorns) and finally the use of the tail as a weapon... yeah, I can't help but go "Oh god... my capricorns just go referenced!"
I'm curious if anyone else noticed this in the leaked episode or if it was just me.
Wonder how Tydal would react to his species being used as a basis of a Nightmare Night costume?

I don't mind, just because you're the God of War doesn't mean you can't like other things. 'Sides, makes sense he's know something about stitching, not unlikely that he's had to sow a comrade on the battlefield back together at at least one point.
